4 year old 8000 feedback ebay account, VIP thoughts please

hey again

just randaomly called ebay about my suspended/straight/mine/correct info account that i left behind when i discovered stealth.

ebay say they only suspended because of paypal and there was "no problem reinstating the ebay acct when paypal was sorted, i then call paypal playing dumb and asking why why why.

they said 1 outstanding case that needed refunding but they couldnt because there was no "reimbusrment method on file" at the time

paypal unlocked my account (i couldnt even log in) said add a bank account add funds to refund the buyer (£120) and they would reinstate

question is do i risk throwing £120 (not a small amount of cash to me) away for something thats not likely to get sorted anyway ? when they have their cash they can just say sorry but no
:deadhorse:

Your wise thoughts would be most appreciated

thank you

GrannyT 03-05-2012 01:44 PM

Only you can make that decision - if it was me and I felt comfortable with it I would probably take a flyer and go for it - but it may go wrong and you may lose your £120 - too many unknown factors to give you specific advise

:ranger:

they_screwed_me_too 03-05-2012 01:46 PM

thanks GT i can let you know the unknowns if you want :-)

they_screwed_me_too 03-05-2012 01:48 PM

oh and curiously even though the PP acc is over 9 years old, they had reset everything as if it was a new account and i had to confirm identity etc etc to lift limits

GrannyT 03-05-2012 01:51 PM

No don't tell me the unknowns - it's all about what you sell and how you have conducted yourself

If you are confident that you can make this fly then go for it - otherwise walk away and go and have a coffee

oompaloompa 03-06-2012 04:13 AM

£120 is not alot to save an account like that, but they have been known to say sayonara afterwards. If you are selling vero, digital or some other risk factor, they are more likely to do so....

they_screwed_me_too 03-06-2012 05:06 AM

@oompa for the record i was always selling car parts and accessories

GrannyT 03-06-2012 07:32 AM

I would go for it and if it went wrong just wipe my mouth on it

GreenBean 03-06-2012 07:40 AM

Proviso I would add is to have all this in writing. :suspicious:

Sounds great.

It also sounds 'a he says, they say story.'

Trust radar not high with me :ballchain:

they_screwed_me_too 03-06-2012 09:17 AM

my thoughts exactly GB but thank you both for your help and advice, in writing might be the way to go
cheers

JJGold 03-06-2012 09:20 AM

Personally, I'd risk the 120 quid in a second.

Thankful 03-06-2012 10:53 AM

If you do persue your account, file all messages + phone convos.

Good luck, do let us know!

zzzz 03-06-2012 06:23 PM

120 squid is a joke for an account like that my friend just pay them :)

GTB 03-07-2012 07:07 AM

personally speaking

i would go for it

but i would not hold out too much hope

expect the worse and hope for the best:)

good luck

those can be classed as risky, as they can be copied. Not sure how high they rank risk-wise for them though.....

rsot 03-07-2012 11:29 AM

I would risk 120 squid for it - not a big deal.

exranger 03-07-2012 03:39 PM

On a similar vein, I got a notice from an account I had way back in 2003. I created a separate (and apparently stealth) account to buy a truck from a guy whop had some really bad feedback - but a a truck I wanted, lol.

Anyway, the truck, surprise, was not as described, he left me bad feedback (2, somehow) and I forgot about the account.

It's still active. How should I revive this??
What's the best plan of action?

rsot 03-07-2012 03:43 PM

If still alive, go slow on it - like any new account.

Gamefreak 03-08-2012 02:28 AM

how can you be strap for cash with an account like that...

Do it with a credit card just in case.. but for an account like that that is worth 1000s I would surely spend the 120 quid to see what happens.

Lheonard 03-08-2012 08:18 AM

I would risk throwing the £120

exranger 03-08-2012 11:21 AM

Do you think the fact that it is 9 years old helps any??
What about the 2 Negs?

hackteck 03-08-2012 11:34 AM

so did you pay the 120?

rsot 03-08-2012 11:48 AM

Length does help somewhat so 9 y.o. would be a positive but not 100% fail-proof.

they_screwed_me_too 03-08-2012 11:49 AM

had to re-add a bank acc to PP to pay the 120 as they had deleted all cards etc at some point, so waiting for the 2 deposits. will keep you posted

GTB 03-08-2012 12:12 PM

all the best with this mate

it would be great if you could get this acct back up and running

Gamefreak 03-08-2012 02:55 PM

Thats a A1 credit account right there so if you get it back you should have no problems making your money back in a matter of hours if not days.

they_screwed_me_too 03-08-2012 03:55 PM

yeah GTB it would be nice to have a single straight none stealth account again, i could then get rid of all th other stealth accounts "cough"

Bingo 03-08-2012 05:59 PM

May I ask the OP why $120 is such a big deal to keep such account if you have been selling for 9 years?

they_screwed_me_too 03-08-2012 06:03 PM

because its £120 and the idea of giving it to theM only for them to say "computer says no" aferwards but i have. we shall see but we all know whats going to happen

they_screwed_me_too 03-09-2012 02:40 PM

so .......money paid ......PP verified and no sending withdrawal limits at all on the PP account (apart from the one outstanding case previously mentioned that is now refunded)

the waiting begins.........................

GTB 03-10-2012 03:19 AM

good luck

can i ask what issues the account had

i know you mentioned about unpaid fees or something

any breaches other than that?

they_screwed_me_too 03-10-2012 10:15 AM

no GTB sorry if i confused you, there was no other issues with the ebay side of things

the paypal account was suspended for a sale outside of ebay (my website) then they suspended ebay and blocked ebay later

GTB 03-10-2012 10:38 AM

okay, maybe, just maybe they will give you a second chance

keep us posted
