That's entirely your call (pun intended) but you do run the risk of possibly putting the account at risk depending on what info they ask for.

Christopher 03-13-2012 12:54 PM

well what do they ask for..and what other way can i get a higher limit

lightmaria 03-13-2012 12:59 PM

Wait three months from when you first made the acc. They should increase your limits without you having to ask them after a few months as long as you have good feedback I would assume.

There are no work arounds or time limits that apply anymore, you will just have to be patient and let the account mature and grow organically.

Try and rush it or get around it and they will shut you down.

Callidus 03-13-2012 01:36 PM

Why not just create multiple accounts to get around the selling limit ? Obviously still selling slowly

elitepowersales 03-13-2012 08:22 PM

Once you fail the 4 question quiz, they usually ask you to fax in documents when you call in. There are few ways around the limits. You can link to previous account with higher limit. You can open multiple accounts and there are also certain tricks you can used to get about 100 listing even on one day old accounts, but you will have to figure those closely held secrets out yourself.

Isn't it? Isn't it just absolute nonsense? :noidea:

The sad but, true story of selling on eb. :pout:

Solution: Make more accounts, its not that hard. Everything takes time, if you plant a seed in the ground would you expect loads of fruit coming from the seed in just a couple months?

Then you need to sell it on craigslist or something because it is not going to happen.

The only other answer would be to buy an account that has what you need but they can run into some bucks for a good one.

Is what you are selling vero items?

We all have stuff to sell but we all have ran into the same problem, that is why you need to be working on accounts as time is ticking away and you need to get to the 90 days from first sale.

Sandy D 03-17-2012 12:39 PM

Ohh

Why not create several accounts and ship fast?

Most of the time the money is released upon it being delivered.

MM78 03-17-2012 01:17 PM

Sandy_D, thank you..I've been saying that for a while now. The sooner your customers get their stuff the sooner the cash gets released. Asking for raise limits is a huge risk and gamble. Open 3-4 more accounts and then you have more sales.

@OP, If you changed info on the account then yes it's a stealth account and calling Ebay for a limit raise will raise red flags and potentially kill your account or they will be watching you with a magnifying glass.

Certain things are best not posted online.

Maybe this poster can send us both a PM with the secret?

;)

i have been a member for 4 months and they still havent lifted my limits

do you know why?

GreenBean 03-17-2012 07:23 PM

@shopeasy

Depends on different factors.

Type of items (risk wise)
Category of items being sold.
Construction of ebay account AND paypal account.
Are you selling with a fully verified & confirmed paypal account

In other words, do you look OK to ebay. If you dont your limits will not be lifted.:juggle:

shopeasy73 03-17-2012 07:28 PM

yes i am selling from a fully verified and confirmed paypal account

what should i do to get the limits lifted?

please help

thank you

i'm not sure when your first sale was but.......

usually the raising of how many items you can sell starts 90 days after your first sale, not when you joined.

I've heard linking your paypal account right away as soon as you create your account raises the limit. Not sure if that's a secret as well.
I also heard it's the luck of the draw and just random.

This just shares the limit between the linked accounts.

If you had starting limit of 10/1000 you will now have 5/500 on each account. Tells you clearly right before adding a linked account. Now of course if linked account has higher limits or no limits this would be different. But still split evenly.

Make accounts and start slowly. Sell to the limit each month, or close. Dollar value counts too. the they will raise you every month if you take the right steps.

If sell way under monthly selling limit then they often do not see a reason to go higher on your limits. Try to be close to the number of items allowed AND the dollar value. Some have suggested stay 1-2 below.

From my experience I have one account I sold very cheap goods always to max item limit, however the final value price sale was low. After 3 months it had a 1000/2000 limit. A large increase in item, but low increase in dollar value.

Now on an additional account the opposite effect. High dollar items. After 3 months it was 20/5000.

If you don't reach near limit AND don't reach near monthly dollar value then it will not go up much. Or worse go down.

These are my experiences anyway of months of practice.... Now of course there are a few tricks that I wont share. You should practice and learn they will come to you quick. Most of the time anyway.

Hope this helps a bit in understanding.
