Do you withdraw money from PP once item posted

Hey just a survey on how you guys withdraw the money from PP.

So , someone/buyer had paid you via Paypal, and you supposed to post the item to the buyer.

Once you posted and obtain the tracking number and updated to Paypal website, do you instantly withdraw the money from customer to bank account or you let it sit on the account for few days just so the tracking go live and stated customer had received the parcel, then you withdraw the money?

Which way is better?

Thanks

Wait until after item is delivered. Most of time wait until 2-3 days after.

And when I received payment for stuff I sell on gumtree, not from eBay, why the on the paypal payment details, it stated that for Seller Protection , it's "Not Eligible".

Can anyone confirm that seller protection was only offered to seller on Ebay only? Or if it's also applied for seller outside ebay, why I am not eligible for Seller Protection.

Thanks

So much of this depends on the history of the account. Myself as well as a handful of other long time experienced sellers here who spend many hours building up solid accounts withdraw every day.

If this is a new account, obviously you can't do this.

That only regards their address and whether or not is confirmed.

as soon as i see funds are now....the money has already been thru 2 accounts ;)

rsot 03-15-2012 11:31 AM

@download3000, hopefully you're doing this well because going through 2 accounts repeatedly can be quite a danger sign.

Also for a stealth PayPal account, must we had both bank acc and credit card verified? or can I just verify using bank account, as it is mainly for selling and withdraw, so I don't see any needs for a credit card , but will attaching a credit card help the account to last longer? thanks

Sandy D 03-15-2012 10:47 PM

Having a fully verified account makes an account stronger so the answer is yes.

lhall5422 03-17-2012 06:28 AM

Doesn't it raise pp account limits as well? Verifying credit card that is?

Callidus 03-17-2012 07:02 AM

Dont qithdraw too quick I usually leave it 3-4 days sometimes longer, builds strength and trust on the account I think.

Mzgr3k0 03-17-2012 07:53 AM

I'm not an expert but I think it depends on a few things.
Talking from personal experience I had a stealth pp account opened since last nov and My pp is currently frozen from attempting to transfer $400 5 days after the sale was completed.
I think it depends on how much $$ u are transferring and how new ur pp is.
Just a personal opinion !
=]]

Callidus 03-17-2012 07:59 AM

Yeh but you shouldnt be transferring $400 in one go anyway nor should you be clearing out a PP. That has a limitation written all over it. Leave some money in there and always withdraw in small doses

Mzgr3k0 03-17-2012 08:36 AM

Yeh I did leave $$ in there...
=\ at least $150..

Callidus 03-17-2012 09:55 AM

But you withdrew $400 in one hit! Massive 'risk' to your account

TheGenius 03-17-2012 09:58 AM

Unless I'm using an OLD established account I leave it in for at least 2 weeks. Then only withdraw a portion at a time.

I agree 400 at one shot is extremely risky.

Isn't there a certain number you don't want to have in your account to avoid being asked for social and what not?

I never let mine get that high to even get asked.

But I learned my lesson last year when I got the request for these docs at around 12k and more then 200 sales.

I wont allow my pp accounts to get to a high dollar amount, I wont allow them to steal my hard earned money. If they do they might only get a few hundred and that is it.

sax4 07-02-2012 09:04 AM

Yes say I sell a £300 mobile phone, I will add tracking then withdraw £75 at a time
