Paypal Limited Account

Hi All,

I have already got 1 stealth account running ok so far and have had 1 stealth account limited due to a link to my old account.

Please can I ask you experienced users of stealth accounts:

If your paypal account gets limited and you provide all the info they need and there is no links to your old account, what are the chances of the limitation being lifted? Is it a case of if you get limited they don't want to do business with you full stop, due to "high risk"?

Sometimes you will be lucky as long as they think the information you have provided them e.g. Supplier invoices are all ok.. they wont accept anything from China from my experience you would need to get create on that front.

If its just a basic limitation where bank statement and ID need to be sent in usually a good chance unless they have already branded you as 'high risk', then the chances are very slim!

Hi, thanks for your quick reply.

Do you think 2 payment reversals within a week would be deemed "high risk"?

Hmm... possibly. How new is the account? and what were the amounts that were refunded?

Getting to the point, of course.

What were the reasons :ballchain:

The account was about a month old, fully verified, withdrawal limits lifted. It took about 1k of sales and it was limited after 2 payment reversals from 2 different buyers. I'm wondering if it is the payment reversals that flagged up the limitation or the amount of sales? Just wondering how to proceed with my next stealth account...

I made 2 successful withdrawals always ensuring I left £150ish in the account.

The payment reversals were bank disputes from the buyers card.

The amounts were less than £20 each.

The 'actual' combination of activity would cause paypal to react with a limitation.

They do not like reversals EVEN if you are doing the right thing to please a buyer.

Because of the age of the account they would also be nervous.

Bear in mind you are dealing with a company that has been known to hold on limitation a mere 50pence of a seller's funds.

For future accounts your start is important imo.
I can not answer for others but I prefer to have paypal accounts 'maturing' B4 going near ebay ;)

Thanks for your reply. How many months would you wait before selling on Ebay?

You should be buying and selling low risk items within the first month. I always do this within the first two months, then let sit for a month or so. After that I slowly list my main items I want to sell

That really depends on the risk of your product + operations.

As for selling on eb, I like to do buying and browsing for 1 month before getting sales going - some folx do 2 weeks, others same day but I think 2 weeks is not bad.
