eBay Postal Address Verification

About a month ago I opened an account using my brother-in-laws details. Everything was going as planned until I came to upgrade my listing limits from 10 per month, to 100 per month. Usually when I got to this point I just confirmed I had a fully verified PayPal account and the limits were lifted automatically, but this time eBay said they were sending me out a confirmation code to the address I supplied and that to continue selling on eBay I had to confirm the code.

I was lucky in that I was using a family members address, but I wondered if anyone else had gone through this, and whether or not it was a regular occurance. Is this the norm these days, or did I just get unlucky and was the one in a thousand?

Your family member won't think so if the account ever get banned.

There are lots of posts regarding postal verification of address when requesting limits raise. Try searching the forums. Been discussed over and over.

I remember they used to do this a looooong time ago.

Was there no other option to confirm address? adding a vcc or sending in documents for example?

It's been happening on a seemingly random basis when requesting selling limits raised for the past few weeks and no other options are offered.

New game afoot

No, it was a straight letter, nothing else.

What I will say is that my brother-in-laws address is a Flat number, and address.

ie Flat XX, Something Road.

Im guessing that had something to do with the address verification.

PLEASE

Do not use a family or friends information at all.

It is not right and you could lose a family member or friend real quick.

No reason to use their address or info.

If you take the time to read around here you would have known that but you are kinda new so you need to stop using their info period.

I have been one of the posters here who know first hand that using a family or friends address is a big no no. I helped a very close friend create a new stealth account.

She learned it well and then got greedy and started using all her families names, addresses etc. She then blamed me for showing her how to create stealth accounts. But I was up front not to use any family or friends info but of course she got greedy and already used it and several got taken down because she linked all of them together.

No problem.

Everyone including newbies need to learn one thing.

Things change almost daily and once people like me started posting real life issues like I posted then people need to start adapting to changes.

Adapting to the changes and helping or warning others is what makes us successful together.

I am not dumping on anyone, just keeping people from losing their friends and family members.

It's more confusing when it is not appreciated that stealth was published some time ago. ( as in months)
It's has only ever been stated as a guide to going stealth

Much has changed.

The forum is the place for new users to access the latest methods & learn to refine plans stated in the book.:peace:

You may or may not have read posts of mine where I specially recommed to new users to make a plan of forming a new account. They get asked to post that for us to tweak.
I also have a habit of saying whatever else you do, dont touch ebay/paypal until you are sure of the procedures... such messages are clearly there to be read.:shhh:

Don't use family/friends details especially without their permission..there's 192 other ways around this though
