Haha that place is pretty popular in the UK. They helped me pay for my flights to China!
The community I lived in was very middle class and people gave away all sorts of ridiculous stuff like fully working amplifiers, GPS units, projectors, minidisc players...the list goes on!
I felt a little guilty about taking the stuff just to flog on...but hey, I was doing everyone a favour. They got rid of their stuff and someone who really wanted the item got it!
A friend of mine got this massive upright organ that took about 6 of us to pick up! Goodness know how much that was worth, but she actually wanted to play it...that was my first experience of freecycling.
Doesn't happen here though. Even second hand crap sells at 75% of it's retail value. There are no charity shops...just lots of places selling knock of tat!
