Handling time not as promised

My handling time is 1-business day.
However, if I need to contact the buyers for some reasons and it takes more than 1 business day in case the buyers don't answer right away, that means I don't perform as I promise in my handling time policy (in Ebay's eyes) and this will affect my performance.
What can I do to avoid that?

change your handling time. i put 3 days and usually send out within 1. buyers are happy when they get their item faster then they expected

Yes, but now, in order to get the 20% TRS discount, you must ship within 24 hours.

But that only has to apply to 90% of your orders.

So, a small delay on a few orders should not be a problem.
