i told a couple people in a few different threads to use vmware guess i fell on deaf ears it makes things alot easier to run instead of loggging in and out of your computer every few minutes

yup x2 but most people don't know how to even do an ifconfig command =/ my howto will give everyone a better understanding on how to operate vmware...

i can change mac address on my router interface or using XP on the actual card. But I now prefer the ease and time saved by using a dongle. Remember computers are there to make things easier (so i thought ?)

So, how are you specifically using VMWare to change the MAC on the router? That's the one that has to be changed, it's the one seen by the outside world. The MAC on the computer's NIC is easy to change.

Nut the MAC address is machine based, as the name applies. You might be able to spoof it, I guess...but the router is going to have the same address...

I thought it stood for Media Access Control.....

Yes, it does stand for that. But it's an older term, has nothing to do with "media" as in CD-Rom, etc., comes from the prehistoric computer age when giant mainframes roamed the Earth....
