I have noticed that if you try to list on an account in the 1st week of creation over the past month about 30-40% seem to be getting taken out by ebay.

Listed way too quickly - also maybe listed high risk items, maybe?

Ebay seems to be clamping down on new accounts listing even one items in the UK at the moment unfortunately - seems like they like to ask new members for proof of ID, address & items are in your possession at the moment.

I think he seems the same info that he as on his Amazon account. And yea, you made the account tonight and you listed 2 things already. Dude that is way too fast.

Start out with one thing and let the account age pass the 30 days. I have made accounts and about 85% are just fine.

vlb,

You cooked your own goose.

If you had not 'used' ebay for 5 months did you check in here?

ebay has changed in the past 4 weeks.

You got to be READY for them.

A simple fact of being stealth.

As it stands today ebay is going to restrict more accounts on 1st activity than ever before

Yeah sure I've had them restored after following the steps - its just an extra hurdle to get over when first starting out an account. Although i suppose if you follow it the account should be stronger in the long run...

Learnt this lesson on the first ever stealth I opened! Listing in the first 2 weeks even got me taken down, provided them what they wanted and I was back up running !

Dont list too soon

I still like the idea of account building with buying first.

I open new acc and wait one month until i start trading. After a month i start selling when one is ready i go to the next one and create a new one and so on... Never try to sell anything on the first day, this is not how noobs start ebay acc, we should behave like proper newbies.

is it advisable to get some feedback before selling? I've been buying items <$.50 with free shipping, about 3-4 a day.

also, do the selling limits automatically go up? right away they are 10 items and $500. In what fashion do these evolve?

@prowakeskater

I always get feedback B4 selling.

I stay well away from those small items <$.50 in case of being tagged for feedback manipulation. New accounts these days I have a feedback budget of $80-$100 to spend.
Such accounts will be flourishing (if all goes well) for the holiday season at year's end. I expect to recoup the feedback funds.

Ah, selling limits.... replies are along the lines of how long is a piece of string. As much as I dislike generalising, every account is different. I'll have a quick look for recent threads :D

ok so is 10 feedback a safe number?

I'm thinking it can go like this-

register, get verified, register selling account, get limits (10/500)

wait 30 days, build 10 feedbacks, start selling, hit limits? ask to raise limits?

I know that once the ball gets rolling, you want to hit your limits each month, so come evaluation time, they raise it, then hit those, then next time they're lifted.

It seems I'm missing an important step in-between. I can't decide if requesting higher limits would be appropriate for starting out, or after you sell a couple items, starting off slowly?

I'm on these forums all the time now, and I'm NO stranger to forums. Im avidly into street bike riding, and my cars- lancer evolutions. I learned almost everything about the cars in about a year. Tune them myself now too...

anyways if you're too lazy to answer I will still thank you for the info you have led me to :D

thanks GreenBean!
