Based on this thread I have a question to ask

I would like to have a question and need help.
I have an account with xxx information but the method is not stealth. It's already linked with my legit account. I feel it's too risky to link xxx with legit account so I stop selling on xxx account.
But reading Rsot's post, I see that if that account stays inactive for long time, it may be taken down so the legit account will be taken down too.
So I want to close that xxx account (both PP and Ebay).

My question is if I request to close the account, do they ask me to verify/provide any document to prove that I'm the owner of the account? Do they review anything?

I have asked this question before but everybody always asked me why I want to close the account, let me be if nothing happens.... But the thing is the xxx and legit accounts are linked, I don't want to take the risk, I really want to close the xxx one.

Even if you close it you might have it linked and they will catch it.

They do not get rid of info and if you have already linked it then no sense in closing it because it wont do anything.

Just because you close it does not mean it is removed from pp's database - that info stays on so all the info is kept recorded.

I still don't get it.
What will they do with the account that is already closed although they have info. about it?
In another case, if the account is still there, it may be shut down in the future because of lacking activities. At that time, the legit one will go down too.

Open or closed they keep and cross check the info.

Does not matter either way it will link.

This is where you need to be very careful of your choices.

If you close the account, anything there including anything done with other accounts is retained.

Should a link already exist, closure will not remove the link.

If that account is otherwise alright (no restrictions etc etc0 I would go with leaving it as is...

Let us know how this works out.

I will follow what you guys suggested: leave that account as it is, I won't close as there is no benefit to do so :D
