How to use drop shipping on ebay?

Hello everyone,

I live in UK and would like to sale goods which are located in Ukraine. Should I mention on ebay that packages will be coming from Ukraine? What is the best way to do it? Thanks,,,,

Yes you need to state where the item location is otherwise people will be complaining about delivery times and also why the item is coming from outside the country when you have stated it is coming from the UK

Drop shipping will get your accounts limited sooner rather than later.

Too big a margin for error, no control over product quality or shipping......DISASTER AHEAD

Be warned, e/b & p/p hate drop shipping with a vengeance.

If they find that you are dropshipping you will lose the account.

They seem to not like the item not being in your possession and will either take down the account or ask for a stack of docs.

drop shipping is one of the reasons they have those 21 day holds. Although its easier, its not worth the trouble. Gather your inventory first.

True dat.

What will you do when they ask you to prove you have the items in your possession?

Easiest way of proving you have what you are selling is sending a nice pic of you with the items. Much easier than providing invoices etc. imo.

Could be risky...but could be worth it you do it right...

So much wrong information.

A lot of people dropship on ebay - it's not a problem if you know who your supplier is.

You will not lose your account or get limited, I should know.

You do have to change the shipping location and a few simple rules:

- Know who your supplier is! Make sure to only work with a reliable supplier who has very clear policies on returns and defective items - I would not work with anyone who does not give a full refund for items which are DOA without having to return them (on lower value items) and offer to pay for shipping back for higher priced items.

- Test the supplier first with a small quantity to see what happens and slowly increase it.

Think long and hard before committing your account to doing this.

ebay has a low tolerance towards drop-shipping
paypal has a lower tolerance.

The danger areas for a seller are the quality of the item.

Make sure you get some items yourself to go over them with a fine tooth comb.
You'll find nothing worse than buyer complaints because of 'differences' in the description from the listing.

Whatever else you do, have enough funds to hand to cover the cost of refunds. Trust me they will occur.
Either the drop-shipper will not deliver & buyers will bleat.
Item is not as described & buyers will bleat.

You need to be particular with all your paperwork.

It's not easy but carefully done it can work.
I'm deliberately painting a gloomy picture. Why? So you can make careful choices:juggle:

Be CLEAR about where the items come from or you will lose your account due to buyers complaining of being misled.

Lol...I love the false consensus people have on drop shipping. I blatantly tell eBay that I drop ship and even did after I got suspended. They happily reinstated me.

If you don't know the ins and outs of drop shipping or know what a reliable supplier is, then don't bother because your customers will take you down, NOT eBay or PayPal.

UnderBites08 04-18-2012 08:22 PM

Just don't use a source that is out of the country. If you sell in the USA make sure your supplier is in the USA ect. Then they can ship fast and efficient for you. I heard people post here you have to get creative with drop shipping, but i haven't really heard of a creative method yet.

Omgoozle 04-18-2012 09:41 PM

I'm horrifically surprised that no one has mentioned this yet.....

You need to front the cost of the items and have your "drop shipper" send the items to you and you need to cover the cost of re-shipping them.

This avoids all your problems. It is not difficult. It is not paperwork-intensive. It isn't even stealth if you don't want it to be.

Just do it legit, suck up the $2/item cost of business, and get things done right.
