Pretty strange to even be getting a call from the US - do you sell international by the way?

Why not try calling that number on a private perhaps? see who picks up.

Google the number up it'll usually pop up when other random ppl received the phone call.

Tried Google but nothing specific.

Tried the number but would not connect and I have not sold anything to the US on this account.

Is that number calling a callforwarding number of yours?

Only 9 digits though - North Am numbers are 10 digits...

Yes it is, the full number displayed as 00 1 (616) 334 210

NA numbers are 10 digits after the 1.

It looks like a country code to me. It's been a long ass time since I have dealt with country codes and calling another country.

001...Isn't that like a code for the UK or something or other?

I'm pretty sure its the international dialing code for US.

That could be why it looks so familiar...

But as far as I know it's not possible to have a 9 digit number.

Maybe the dialing code is "00" and the rest is the actual number.

00 1 is the international dialling code to the USA from the UK and all incoming calls from the US will display that prefix before the area code (xxx) and phone number

True but US/Canada prefix is 1 but complete number is 10 digits.

616 area Code is Grand Rapids and another area - Grand Haven.

Thanks, although I'm none the wiser. Perhaps it was just a wrong number or something like that but I'm always wary of unrecognisable calls to my stealth numbers.

Even more so when they are from another country :nono:

It was 616 and not 661, right? Whenever I receive a call via Skype it comes up with a 661 area code.
