PayPal gone down...

Hi all,

A PayPal went down a few days ago so lost the eBay aswell.. was a stealth account with random details and location.

There is about £100 in the limited account so not too bad and have many other accounts up and running , so did well to minimize risk.

Question is, I have £19.00 worth of fees to be paid through eBay, if it is a stealth account should I pay them or shall I not bother?

If I don't pay them can PP start giving a debt collection agency the bank details attached to the account and would I be 'tracked' through that?

Thanks

Stealth or not, do you really want hassle over £19?

I'm surprised you've even put a post on here about potentially "bumping" eBay out of such a piddly amount. Not very professional, is it?

You'd be better focussing your attention on how you lost the account rather than thinking about a £19 bill for fees.

Pay pal does send out debt collectors - of course they will arrive at the stealth address instead - once they find out you don't live there they then prob won't even release your £100 quid money so in this case i would pay. For such a small owed amount not even worth it - perhaps a bigger amount yes.

Not directly aiming this post at the £19 but for future cases if it was to be more and an account does down is it always advisable to be paying fees?

Also, I know how the account went down, they didn't accept ID. So losing 1 out of lots isn't a big deal but only a slight shame.

Pay the fees (unless you are skint).

Ebayorbust 04-17-2012 03:41 PM

Out of interest, were you waiting for docs to be reviewed when you got axed?

What was the email that got sent?

Callidus 04-17-2012 03:43 PM

It just said that the 'PayPal Appeal Denied'...

Took 2 weeks for them to review them then just got dumped on.
OK will pay fees, and no I'm not skint! :nono:

Don't let it disheartened you, you're a soldier davey!

Pay the fees on this one and put in the past.

Ebayorbust 04-17-2012 03:45 PM

Thanks for that.

I know you can afford £19. I meant this would be the only scenario where I wouldnt pay the fees (if I didn't have the money).

Callidus 04-17-2012 03:46 PM

Yes that's cool! Thanks for the advice, just wasn't sure what to do.

Ebayorbust - Ok to pm you with a question?

Thankful 04-17-2012 03:48 PM

However you raised a good point davey when you said:

"bank details attached to the account and would I be 'tracked' through that?"

I think they could if you owed them alot of money, a call to the bank would get them details perhaps? or maybe the bank would refuse to give details depends i guess....

NoneOther 04-17-2012 03:51 PM

The bank would not provide details like that as it would be a breach of Data Protection.

They would only do so if it were a possible fraud case and the police :mod: were involved but not likely to happen for £19 though

Callidus 04-17-2012 03:52 PM

I think this whole thing is simpler if I just pay the £19 and wait the £100 out. Funnily enough it will become available on my birthday lol. Things happen for a reason, always!

NoneOther 04-17-2012 04:00 PM

Have a good Birthday when it comes around then

Callidus 04-17-2012 04:09 PM

Will have a better time whilst making LOTS more money on other accounts in the mean time.
