phone call from smile/coop bank account

Hi,
I thought you might be interested in this.
I have had a bank account with smile for 2 year
A month ago a opened a new one and linked it to my steath pp account.
Just this evening I received a call from a lady from coop bank.
She wanted me to confirm I opened the second account.
In this account I have already received a payment from pp and everthing was fine. With the oldest account I use google checkout.:>

Standard procedure with them to make 'welcome' call and 'check' everything is ok

I was a bit worried as the old account as got a daily cashflow and the second one is linked to pp with steath name.
but maybe you are right, nothing to be worried about.
thanks:p

rsot 04-18-2012 08:24 AM

@Thankful, get on that =)

Smile is the name of a bank in UK?

Thankful 04-18-2012 08:34 AM

haha rsot.

Yeah smile is an online bank, they were the first online bank aswell.

rsot 04-18-2012 09:29 AM

Online bank? Catering to non-UK residents too? hmm

Thankful 04-18-2012 09:36 AM

Yup thats correct Online bank, although only available to UK mainland customers, they are actually linked to the Co-operative bank who offer offshore accounts.

rsot 04-18-2012 09:56 AM

Time for me to check it...but only UK mainland residents could be a problem

So it is unavailable in NI?

Good question.

Technically Northern Ireland is not part of the mainland or indeed the British Isles as it shares its land mass with the Republic of Ireland which is a totally independent country.

The correct relationship is that it is part of Great Britain, which to give it its proper title The United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland.

I suppose only the bank in question could answer whether they consider it as UK mainland as there is always a debate as to whether it is or not.

:confused::confused::confused:
