Linking to Paypal from another country
 

Can I register eBay in USA, and link it to a Paypal registered in a different country?

Some say this is not a good idea.
But if I am not in USA, I cannot open a US bank and if I cannot open a US bank, I cannot open a working Paypal account verified by the US bank.

Sure, I can open a US account verified by VCC or even bank verified by a seller here, but at the end of the day, I cannot withdraw to a bank on that account.
Then how would I get my funds?

Someone said it is a bad idea to send the funds to another Paypal account that has a working bank.

So in the end, the solution left is to link it to a Paypal registered in a different country, and if this does not cause problems.

Can people tell me if this would cause trouble and if anyone has done this and had trouble, or done this and works fine for years?

Ok, someone here said if the names and addresses on eBay and Paypal are different, this will make them flagged.

Sorry to answer my own qn, but taking into account the various problems with every solution, what is the best solution for someone overseas wanting to sell on a eBay US account?

Is there a reason for wanting to sell on a US account? Why not a SG account that ships to the USA?

The best solution is always the most simple.

Why do people make things more complicated than they need to be?

OK, I got confused with eB and PP in my first post.
Actually what I really want is to sell on a eB US account that is linked to a PP US account so as to reduce PP fees.
Sorry, I got it a bit mixed up.

So my reason for wanting to sell on a US EB and PP acc is to pay less fees.

Paypal fees are:
US: 2.9% + US$0.30
SG: 3.9% + SG$0.50 (=US$0.40)

Can you see that there is a significant difference in the fees?
You would be paying a lot more on the SG account.
The fees are already high and suck to begin with.
Would you want to pay more if you could avoid it?

So what I really need to do is figure out how to open a US bank account.
This is sometimes possible from overseas.
I have to find out how its done.
