What the hell is going on with Ebay Listings?
 

I'm trying to list some items. I go to sell and then start my item. But as soon as I go to choose the category and click submit it takes me to this weird screen that says:

"Take the guesswork out of selling!"

And then it wants me to respond to these annoying ass prompts that are seriously stupid.

What is going on? I just listed an item 10 minutes ago with no problems. Why is this happening? Some kind of weird glitch? It only happens when I try to change the category.

Maybe your trying to change to a category that it does not allow for that particular item.

Are you trying to get round category specific selling limits?

No, definitely nothing like that. This is some kind of weird new page that wants to do prompts for every little thing. The description part is horrible. It's only basics like underline or bold. No colors or html.

I have no idea whats going on. This just wasted a bunch of my time.

There is a feedback tab on the right side of all the pages for these weird new prompts. I clicked on it like 5 times and left 5 feedback clicking on the "useless" bubble and writing "please get rid of it".

This is beyond frustrating. I don't know if my id was randomly selected to do some kind of test but this is so stupid. I have items to sell and it's impossible.

This must be happening to someone else.

Maybe some new promo gimmick by eb - have not seen this.

Its their new ez selling system for beginners correct?

Sorry, I'm not familiar with what that is.

If that is what it is how do I get out of it?

Oh and this is on an id that is over a year old. I don't understand why this randomly started.

List it! Beta from Ebay Garden I assume.

I am seeing this also. It is a real PITA.

I just back out of it and go to sell similar, copy and paste things and it goes away for me.

They must really think people are stupid and that damn HELP to the right drives me nuts as well. Click it off and it comes back.

Ok, heres the exact details. I figured it out (sortof).

- If you go to "sell similar" it will happen again if you try to change the category. So it's still not a fix for it.

- If you go to "sell new item" it will happen from the moment you start.

- Finally I called Ebay and I told her I have some weird smartbox prompt thing. She said something about "beta" and put me on hold. She came back and told me to check. It was gone and I was back to being able to list normally.

Also, I have 5 ids. This ONLY happened on this id starting yesterday. If this is the future of Ebay I am very very very scared. You can't use html (no high quality pictures) and you can't use color.

If you copy and paste something into the description you are screwed because it comes out in one huge block of text.

This wasn't some kind of horrible test for the future was it? I'm slightly concerned. :>

anybody know how to change this format without calling ebay ? clicking sell similiar on items gets you back to the old way but i have accounts that have not listed an item yet , and when i click sell its this beta system , no way around it that i can find

They have also cut out a Lot of little things, like The Color Palet for Fonts, my guess is that the are trying to force sellers to make Smaller size Listings to save a Little Server storage space,,,or, to allow "Bots" to scan thru Listings Faster,,,you can still Upload your own listings though,,,

can anyone provide the link to sell in the old format , not this smartbox/beta version ? i know sell similiar works but i have not listed on a few new accounts and im getting this new format

You can Switch to the old format if you want, look its there
