Halifax Online Saver
 

Hey guys,

Just quickly read the post using search on Halifax Online Saver I assume you just add it like a normal bank account, will receive the deposits in 2-3 days, add the amounts and I'm good to go right?

Thats right bro - make sure it's an "Online Saver" should get deposits in 3-4 days i'd say, one of mine talk 4 days.

I have 3 bank accounts with them and 1 online saver what is the maximum of each I can have?

I'm pretty sure i've heard someone mention 10 online savers - although i don't think its 10 online savers per bank account.

So you got 3 bank accounts it doesn't mean can you do 30 online savers - it's still 10.

I can get this confirmed later on i know someone who works at halifax.

So at the moment you assume 10 online savers, what about bank accounts?

Alright no problem i'll prob speak to fella tnite or 2moro.

Dont forget to factor in other banks' account that you might already have.

There may be a need to consider that B4 opening further accounts.

Would we just add this account like any other current account? No workarounds are needed to use it with PayPal?

I believe that's not quite correct. I remember seeing a post somewhere that says as soon as you have confirmed the deposits remove the account from PP. You then put it back when you want to download. The DD mandate is the problem.

Wait for someone else to confirm though as I may have it wrong

That is what I was worried about, and referred to with "workaround" in my post. I wanted to confirm that this was any different from the other savings accounts.

I think this is the post GrannyT from Cortex about 8 down.

Not sure what Cortex means about making a withdrawal as I wouldn't have any money in the account in the first place

GrannyT is spot on with this. If you dont follow this advice the bank account will get kicked and you wont be able to re-add.

Just to add to GB's already cautionary note.

Banks like any other financial institution these days monitor closely customer activities with their accounts. Current UK and EU law requires them to.

Whilst it may it be possible, and I emphasise may, to have a total of 10 of these accounts opening them in rapid succession and using them for a purpose for which they were not intended may bring unwarranted attention to all of your accounts with them.

As we all know Halifax is one of the best for our purposes but like anything that is over used or abused it can come to an end pretty quickly.

Open only what you need when you need it

What is the procedure for adding a saver?

What steps do I need to take to make sure that it doesnt get removed by PayPal?

There is no guarantee it won't at some point but if it does the account will stay verified.

Is there a method though to stop it being removed? or is it just luck of the draw?

No there is no method to stop it being removed.

These savers were never intended to have dd mandates and the bank will remove it at some point. They should never really be used for p/p accounts that you intend to have a long term future.

i've tried to add on of these as a secondary account but all i'm getting is "We were unable to process your bank account registration at this time. We apologise for the inconvenience. Please try again at a later date". do these accounts still work?

There is a glitch in p/p's system that sometimes throws this up, it has nothing specific to do with any particular type of account or bank

Try it again tomorrow and it will probably be ok

I tried to to add another couple of basic accounts a week or so ago to a different account and got exactly the same message. I've got all my stealth details and I'm not bothered if I have to talk to them. I'll phone them tomorrow if it doesn't work.

Hi it was 10 online savers but they've limited it now due to the fact people went crazy with it.
I've only got 4 with Halifax. To be fair I had 10 halifax's about 2 years ago (all savers next to a basic account) but I was never dumb enough to use them all at once on multiple stealths..just didn't see the need..plus the attention it'd bring..as i've lost stealths or moved addresses i've just closed the accounts down. I actually have 3 current accounts with halifax+ 4 savers..but out of all those accounts only 1 recieves paypal..you need to be clever with it, not greedy and dumb..or you'll like everyone says just gas yourselve up for attention to your account. Greenbean is 100% right, bank workers can talk to other banks+ ask questions..why does this person want so many paypals to a savings account?

How long after activating the account did you try and add it to PP.

there wasn't money in it, which is why i think it didn't work. i put a quid in and it still didn't work. i think i need to phone them as the account is now activated (and probably blocked at their end).

Edit: Just got off the phone. They added it, and the 1p deposit with the 4 digit security code appeared instantly. I've followed Cortex's post in http://www.aspkin.com/forums/subscri...t-amounts.html so hopefully it'll be alright for a bit.

I tried it too today. I put in Halifax savers few days ago then deleted once verified. Then when I added it today, it says cannot add , ps try again later. I had a feeling it was because they wanted to call and then I changed the stealth number ( as I bought the account from one of the sellers ) to a soho66 number.
I tried 6 hours later and paypal let it add it for withdrawals.

right so no money in is a no no becuase it wont work.

You need to add at least a quid like you have, the other thing you should do it wait 24-48 hours before trying it once you added the quid.

Depending on when you added the quid i would try late monday tuesday.

Thats odd man, paypal might be tightening up security because when i verify all my accounts with any bank of halifax or natwest i never have funds in them and always verifys fine..only issue i ever have is stealth documentation to be honest..

Nor do I. I never have funds in the savings accounts with Halifax and they seem to verify OK.

Hi guys, I need help. How can I add my Bank of Scotland access saver card to my paypal account which is also asking for CSC but my BOF card does not have any CSC... So how should I do it?? Thanks a lot :-)

Ps: it is for my new stealth account
