Can i Actually Call PayPal With Google Voice?

i actually tried it before and they said i were linked with a old account. so i was wondering when i called paypal did they see me real number or its safe to use google voice to talk to PayPal? Right now i use tracphones.

its google voice just another call forwarding?

If so then when you call they would see your number

I concur - PP will see your number via google voice if you've used that medium to call them.

No they do not see your number when you make a call through gv its routed differently so they only see Google voice

they see the number? what if you use a regualr phone and block the number..thought it was only if you call a freephone then they could see

PP is a tollfree number so you cant block your phone number - you can spoof it however.

here in the uk we can use the 141 number

you put this in front of the number you dial and it prevents the recipient seeing the number you call from

i believe it works on all numbers

i may be wrong

here in use we have *67 but i dont know if that works with PayPal.

He is correct, you CANNOT BLOCK YOUR NUMBER from these guys. no *67 or whatever else you use. They will still see the number you are calling from.

freephones like 0800 have the right to see your number as they are paying not you. so 141 works but possibly not on freephone.....

Or use the non toll free paypal numbers.

Spoofing is no longer as effective as it was. paypal 'see' thro' that now.

The emergency services will see your real number.

hackteck, I stand corrected, you are right, you can make calls whereby have the recipient only see's your Google Voice number on their Caller ID. I should have cross referenced this before replying to it.

A slight slap on the wrists for me I guess for such a schoolboy error.:faint:

well i just always ring paypals direct line number rathen than thhe 0800 number..and then with hold my number (block it)
