Correct me if i am wrong here, but doesn't the USA work in the same way as the UK,
in that every time you open a bank account, the bank searches your credit references online, to see if you are worthy of a bank account?:nerd:

So this means opening 4 accounts at 7 banks = 28 credit profile searches... surely banks will pick up on this and cause a red flag there... :spy:

Anyway, it all just sounds a little to risky for me.:shhh:

Canada does this. US major banks do it too Bunneh

I know Direct Debit causes problems at many banks.

I don't want to spend all this time creating Stealth accounts only to have them taken away because I used a Savings account.

um, that's UK banking matters more so than USA.

You can not do what you want to do and be paperless...:typing:

Correct me if I'm wrong GreenBean, but when I said "Paperless" I was referring to the way my bank (Chase) sends my statements currently. It's electronic for most of my paperwork (monthly statements). They still send junk once in a while.

Can we use Savings Accounts in the US?

From what I read(need to be more careful of what country people are referencing) but isn't the problem with Savings accounts the (DD) Direct Debit feature?

I have no idea how this works in the US.

Thanks.

Thanks.

Of course savings accounts are usable in the USA.

That plays to your advantage in bank account selection & numbers.

US banks use ACH instead of direct debits. (Automated Clearing House).

btw, just post like everyone else....

all this bold, color etc gives us the shudders.

We think's it's PAYPAL
