Default Is there a way to keep certain IP addresses?

I've been swapping routers for changing IPs for awhile now and haven't had a problem. It's easy because they each have their own MAC address and a certain IP attached to it.

Lately though, every time I swap a router, I'm getting new IP addresses all the time and they're starting to repeat a lot. I literally have 3 pages worth of IPs for EACH of all of my accounts, around 20 pages worth and it's getting ridiculous...

It used to hold an IP address for as long as weeks, but now they switch every time I swap routers. So, basically having multiple routers is useless for me now.

The MAC address stays the same but the IP changes which is the problem. Is there a way I can hold on to an IP number with a certain MAC indefinitely?

Probably not as the lease time for the IP address is determined by the ISP.

If they are seeing the number of users on their service increase then they will reduce the lease time to free up IP's quicker.

Some may only allow one or two days others longer but once you have released that IP address it can then be assigned to another user.

My UK ISP has almost indefinite lease length which means I get the same IP address for any given router so to e/b and p/p's eyes it would appear I have static a Static IP address.

The longer I use the MAC address the longer the lease is.

On my main user account, it changes once every 3-5 months.
