PP/eBay business address

im coming to the 1900 limit on an old stealth account that i forgot about for a while and been listing for a month or so

need to send docs in soon

silly me when i set it up i did it with a name variation and a business address

for example unit 7, stealth business park, stealth town

what do i send ?

business bill for proof of address and ?

driving license would have my home name on in reality

or do i send them DL with business address ?

or passport and business bill ?

NoneOther 04-28-2012 01:10 PM

I would send passport an business bill :thumb:

Not many people have their dl address at their place of business.

Doesn't matter what the address on the DL is. Photo ID confirms identity, utility bill confirms address.

The DL is fine so long as name and dob match pp info. Utility bill will need company address on it.

they_screwed_me_too 04-28-2012 01:36 PM

but wont PP check the DL name and address against electoral roll if it doesnt match ?

No. They check that the info on the docs matches what is on the pp account.

A DL is a perfectly acceptable form of ID to confirm identity. So what if it has your "home" address on it?

Thankful 04-28-2012 01:46 PM

What does DL stand for?

they_screwed_me_too 04-28-2012 01:46 PM

driving licence :boink:

I would stick to business bank bill and passport, why give them an extra home address to scrutinize...

NoneOther 04-28-2012 02:32 PM

Exactly my reasoning. As we know they retain all information, no need to waste an address.

DL is just as good and you will just need a business bill to partner it, will be fine as EBAYORBUST said.

Thankful 04-28-2012 02:58 PM

You could always use the DL

Yes dl is fine for private accounts, but for a business account?

Would someone really have their dl address the same as their business address?

Possibly if they work from home but that's not the case in this instance.

My thought are always that info should all seem 'real' nothing unusual to draw unwanted attention.

Callidus 04-28-2012 03:23 PM

Also, most eBay sellers work from home so having a business account and your 'home' address isn't unusual but can see what problem the OP has seeing as they have used an 'outside' address as such

NoneOther 04-28-2012 03:35 PM

Exactly, In this instance as he said in his opening post he has used a unit address in a business park so passport and business bill would be most appropriate.

If you work from home ant that is your registered e/b business address then a dl and utility bill with a home address would be fine.

As I said it all has to appear 'real'

they_screwed_me_too 04-28-2012 03:38 PM

its a good account

no selling limts on ebay

once the PP limit is lifted its a real flyer

needs to be done right thats why im appealing for folks to chime in before i make the step

NoneOther 04-28-2012 03:40 PM

Keep it all 'real' now and you've got a golden egg.

Good luck in the future with the account. Remember to stay under the radar :thumb:

As I said earlier a DL is just as acceptable on a business account as a passport is. Photo ID is used to confirm identity NOT address. The address on the DL does not matter as eBay would see it as a home address. So long as the utility bill had the business address on it, there would be no issue.

NoneOther 04-29-2012 12:39 PM

I'm not disagreeing with your point at all, just don't see the need to give p/p an additional address that could well be useful at some future time.

It's a pretty safe bet that they will retain all information from submitted docs so by submitting a dl and business utility you have effectively given them two address.

they_screwed_me_too 05-04-2012 09:04 AM

account limited at exactly 1900

i have done quite a few times, all be it some years ago i used to get my licensens sent to my business addresses.

i used to live in a caravan at several of my business premises for a few years but i do agree its not mormal.

you can also call your unit flat.

they_screwed_me_too 05-13-2012 12:57 PM

right still waiting on this and i know why

1600 in paypal and thats probably toast now

any one had any experience with DOB on docs not matching ?

they_screwed_me_too 05-13-2012 12:58 PM

or any defence when they mention it

put wrong dat in at sign up maybe ?

it was many years ago when the account as created

any info would be appreciated muchly

SUVE 05-13-2012 01:01 PM

I don't know what the other folks are going to say but whatever you do now say from this point onwards to PP is now going to potentially raise another 10 questions for every one thing you say in mitigation.:faint:

You have to be VERY careful here. That 'put wrong date in at sign up maybe ?' is one possible plausible explanation that could fly under PP radar.

Think it through very carefully before you progress any further as things begin to look very serious indeed from here onwards.:tears:

:juggle:

Ebayorbust 05-13-2012 01:53 PM

I know of three instances where docs were accepted with mismatching dob with no questions asked.

That said, you're account is at risk and it really is the luck of the draw if it survives.

meVebay 06-01-2012 08:41 AM

Hope it went good. Depends who you get on the phone, some of them will lift it some say it has to go to review.

On the phone would be ideal for them to ask...the DOB don't match "Oh do they not I must have input it wrong when signing up, I did get a friend who knew about PayPal to help me maybe he typed it wrong" etc etc

Good luck!
