Unable to Confirm Identity?

So I listed a few items on ebay just now and I was trying to list one more when it asked me to relog in and then it took me to a page where it said "is your personal info correct" and I'm like yes.

Then it loads for a few seconds and then says "we are unable to confirm your personal information, please contact customer support"

O_o anyone get this before? What to do. And its a stealth acc btw.

Happens a lot.

Do you have a working phone on this account?

If they see someone odd it will flag the account and this is just another way to make sure you are you and you are using your computer etc.

Yeah I do have a working phone on it. So, should I just write this account off? Not worth the hassle to send in docs/ whatever else they want me to do? The acc isnt rly that old and the limits are like 10/500.

But what can I do in the future to make sure I dont get this confirmation thing again?

Sandy D 04-29-2012 12:12 PM

Not worth the time and hassle with those limits.

Unless you want to test your ability to send them which might be a good learning experience for you.

No way around it, they are asking this more and more.

Dont know enough about how you create your accounts, banks, ccs etc to know.

Could be many reasons.

Hmmm if I've been selling on an account for 3-4 months and haven't been asked to confirm my identity in this way, is it safe to say I'm in the clear? and the odds are i wont ever be asked to do so?

Wait a minute, you said above that you just got this message when you listed something.

"So I listed a few items on ebay just now and I was trying to list one more when it asked me to relog in and then it took me to a page where it said "is your personal info correct" and I'm like yes. "

Which is it, you got this message a few months ago or you just got it.

If you just got it and do not respond try listing something else, betting it wont allow you or the account will go down if you do not send in docs.

You also said you have been listing on the account for 3-4 months but still only have the 10/500.

What type of item are you selling? Risky or not risky?

Could be a great learning account for you.

Dont know all the specifics but when I get that message I get to work answering it.

This is not a rare issue and not to be rude at all but if you spend more time reading on the board you would see tons of post about confirm location issues.

No i meant I was selling on another account for 3-4 months and haven't been asked to confirm my identity on that account. So is it safe to say that I wont ever be asked to confirm my identity since I've already have that account established?

And I got the confirm identity message just now on one account yes with 5/500 listing limit. My items are kinda risky. They are scarfs so yeah.

Sandy D 04-29-2012 10:25 PM

No account is safe.

Selling risky items is drawing attention to your accounts.

I got this message several times before, once with each of my accounts.
However, when it said "is your personal info correct?", I stopped there and didn't press yes or no because I didn't know what it was for.
After a few day, I tried to list again and everything has been fine since then.
I don't know what triggered this, but perhaps that was because I tried to list many listings on the same day. And at that time, my accounts were < 3 months.

lightmaria 04-30-2012 09:33 AM

Thanks bingo that cleared things up a bit.

Sandy D 04-30-2012 10:35 AM

Let us know if it goes away as any account I have got this message on did not allow me to continue to list and list.

Something triggered the flag but then you said scarves so I am assuming high end name brand.
