Hello folks,
So the general rule for p aypal is 20k/200 items sales per year but we all know its usually less before you get the request to send in tax id info

Well, I was hit on one of my accounts at sales of about 4k, selling from Jan-march. (about 250 items sold around 10-15 a piece

I have stopped selling on that account since then, but I was wondering if I was to wait till next year or something will the account still be requested on the tax info

I also thought it was a bit too soon to be hit with docs selling only 4k

your thoughts?

Even after you get hit with tax ID information, you can keep on making sales for a little while. The more convenient way is to just make another stealth, but I found that if you really want to keep the account, just go online to the IRS website and get an EIN for a sole proprietorship - that also works.

Do they let you conutue to till your reach 20k and 200 items? or they will stop it short??? i wondering too! but how short is the question?

The account will last for a bit then it will go down if you do not provide the info.

There is no rhyme or reason to the numbers.

This I believe is the lowest amount I have read on this board to be asked for the info.

Everyone has to be prepared for this.

Yes, the "OR" part is important.

That is very low. I would need to provide on several accounts if the case.

I was thinking of stopping around 10k and then letting em ride till 2013 with few sales in between every month for activity.

It really is not either of them.

I got it last year with 175 sales and 12k.

The 200/20 is just a target and is not concrete.

Someone just posted a thread they got hit with the IRS paperwork on 4k in sales and 250 sales.
