Cra.igs.Li.st fail...now blocking prepaid numbers.
 

Yes, new notices when attempting to post in regards to prepaid numbers. So far, none of my Virg.in Mob.iles work now. I have a few smaller unknown prepaid services I will try later, but just giving some warning in case anyone gets confused.

Also, if your prepaid is working, post the company it is with if you can. Thanks.

They have been doing this for a while now.

When they send you the code and you try to use a pre paid it wont accept it.

Nothing new, I noticed this months ago.

Maybe in your area, but not mine. Was using V-Mob phones all last month with no problem. And the notice never appeared until this week.

I guess very few people here actually rely on CL as a source of income. I do, so I suppose I take it a bit more serious than others. I am in a competitive market so it concerns me. Oh well.

Another forum I read talked about this 3-4 months or so ago and for me I noticed it a while back as well.

Someone in NY mentioned it, another in Texas.

I actually have some stealth CL accounts so I can get paid through pp for items i ship but once they started not accepting the codes that ended that.

Hope someone finds a work a round as I was selling the crap out of stuff nationwide and shipping items out off CL.

Exactly. Shipping is so awesome for me. Random payments coming in and PP has no idea where they are coming from so I never have an issue with money being frozen. I don't post any links in my ads, simply rely on people e-mailing me.

CL profits cover a number of bills for me every month. I have been with them since the very beginning and having to jump through more new loopholes like EB to continue to survive.

I am selling more and more on CL across the country.

And seldom ever get a hold on pp funds.

I got a reversal a few weeks ago. DC saved me.

I always put DC on the package just in case.

As long as your items aren't hundreds of dollars or electronics, you are fine.

pp are not linked to any eb.

I ship quite a bit of smalls across the country just like eb.

Software allows people to look for items all over the country thus creating customers for your product that is not close to you.

Cl is no longer a local only thing.

I dont have it on this user account but there is several websites etc that will allow you to search for specific keywords all over the US in one click.

I buy some things by doing that as I specialize in one particular antique and find many good buys on CL when I have to time to search.

If I get over to the user account I have it saved on I will post it.

Thought of that today and was going to try it tomorrow.

VOIP was blocked almost 2 years ago and then finally all of the free VOIP applications on smartphones as well. It was incredible when it worked.

They aren't dumb anymore. Remember, EB has taken a massive stake in them now so they are learning from the masters.

The only loophole at the moment is small, unknown prepaid companies.

Because once your real number is attached to an account that has been flagged too many times, every account after that cannot withstand flagging. I am in a competitive market as stated before.

There is much for you all to learn about CL as no one talks about it here at all. I am not going to teach you every step. Search on your own.

I completely understand that your prepaid wont work cause you've been flagged to much.
I am not lying when I use CL all the time easily 1,000 a week and thats nothing.

Its just i get annoyed meeting in person so much.

I use My cell and my house number oh yeah I also have 5 roll over landlines at my actual business I can use for craigslist....well the 5th is for the credit card machine and fax,

But still only use my real numbers and am fine.

My friend has a pre paid boost mobile that works for sure 100% and he changes his number every 2 months for other reasons ; ) Hope that helps.

Do you know when is the last time he used the Boost number successfully? As stated before, my V-Mobs were fine all last month. Then again, as Sandy D stated, they seem to be rolling this new block out slowly so maybe some people are still not affected yet. I know Boost only charges $5 per number change and sometimes if the representative is nice, you can convince them to do it for free.

Also, ever tried using the fax for a verification phone call? I did not think of that, but it should work...

I was getting the verification code about every 5 listings so changing your number might not work.

One IP, one e-mail and one phone number per account. That's already known. Then once competition flags it too many times, your account becomes "pink" and only takes one person with one IP to take down all of your listings after that.

Then you have to create new IP, new e-mail and new phone number all over again to recreate a new, strong account that can withstand flagging. You can list around 4 items before they request verification via phone.

I honestly don't get any verifications at all. I list things all the time. I space them out about hr or 2 each listing. Sometimes I will do 4 In a hr. Maybe its my accounts so old or Im just lucky.

Yea, the time periods in which you list items does play a part. Since I sell a lot of items, it's hard spending the time to separate everything. Usually I am in a rush so of course every time I get verification requests.

Longevity could definitely help your accounts. I just have never had the opportunity to keep a longstanding account that hasn't been flagged to death. Sometimes I can't even sell simple things without getting flagged. I don't understand it, but the market here is quite brutal some times. For example, I have been trying to sell a simple Mo.toro.la RAZR flip phone for just $30 for almost a month and was getting flagged down every other day. I finally sold it, but I know there was nothing against TOS in my listing. There never is. My listings are always very simple with no advertisements or promotional spamming.

Stupid stuff like that is why I have to keep creating new accounts. it makes no sense, but there is no way to fight it since it is all community controlled, for the most part. Some times my listings last for days or weeks and some times they get flagged down instantly by competition.

I messed with this this morning and could not get past the first item on any new account.

On a few old ones I got to 3-4 items listed and got the code request.

For me to operate with multiple pps I need to find a way around the stupid phone issue.

I had no idea people actually pay to have things shipped. For me though it has always been a place to sell large things, furniture, workout equipment and such. Never thought much about shipping...

The one on their site is useless. People who know anything don't talk and the rest of it is just n00bs and people complaining about nonsense all day. 99% of the people there have zero intelligence.

I have several buyers from all over the place for a certain category and believe me they are all over it. I get several emails a day asking if I have found anymore.
I have to be careful because I sell to the same people from different names, addresses, pp etc.

I get flagged for overposting everyday. Account is running fine however for 4 years.

^^^ We aren't talking about spamming. Plus, using the same account for 4 years means your listings can be killed by 1-2 IPs. So none of that is relevant.

Meaning overposting shouldn't get you suspended. Prohibited will.
