| prohoops | 05-03-2012 03:35 PM | PayPal & Walmart Hello everybody I'm new here, and have a question about PayPal and Walmart.
I purchased a phone card today from walmart.com and used paypal to pay them. Walmart accepted the paypal, but now in my paypal account it's pending.
Will paypal limit your account without a SSN attached to it?
I have my bank account attached to the paypal account.
I want to purchase something else on walmart.com but I scared paypal will limit my account if I keep buying things. |
You don`t tend to get limited for buying things - it`s more likely to happen when you RECEIVE money. |
| prohoops | 05-04-2012 06:08 AM | Gotcha will they call to verify before it clears or should I just wait for walmart to send the card to my email? |
No buying on Walmart will get you limited. Thing about using Walmart and buying. While it says pending you better you have a working phone because they call to verify all the info on the paypal account not ssn but name address telephone etc. It's similar process like using callingmart or pinzoo it's a one time verification. |

I always wondered why I would ALWAYS get my order cancelled when trying to get something from Walmart. Now I know! |
| prohoops | 05-08-2012 09:26 AM | Makes sense now. |
| punkskier | 05-23-2012 03:17 PM | sorry to post in this ol forum, i'm just going thru this with Walmart/Paypal battle.. long story short i used paypal to pay for Walmart item using in-store pickup.. not 2 hours later i get an email that my paypal is limited. and also an email from walmart that my order is being delayed by 48 hrs? Anyways looking at my account now, the payment to Walmart still states that it's pending. i'm wondering if there is a chance (even small) that the payment will complete and go thru. i'll update and keep posted of the outcome. damn Paypal! |
| Irule22 | 05-23-2012 05:48 PM | Did you do what they said above? With the working phone number, etc? |
| punkskier | 05-24-2012 09:24 AM | yes, i had my stealth phone on, but paypal didn't call. i'm calling them tonight.. walmart also cancelled my order as i thouht they would. so now i'm left with a limited account with locked money in it! |
| Sandy D | 05-24-2012 10:13 AM | It has been posted here tons of times that people who use pp and wal mart get limited 99% of the time.
If you think you found something that someone else has not or tried think again.
Many here have been there and done that and has posted their mistakes over and over again.
Not worth the hassle of doing all that work only to lose an account for not reading through post or using the search button for "walmart". |
| BigCJ | 05-24-2012 10:14 AM | I think its because walmart sends paypal the shipping information once the order is processed. If it doesnt match up, sometimes the orders get canceled.
Ive had this happen last month on a paypal account.
And I say sometimes because I have had orders go through.
Placed an order on walmart, had it shipped to a PO box. Order on paypal said completed, walmart canceled the order like 20 mins later then I got limited. |
Seems like Wal mart is a flag on any system |
| punkskier | 05-25-2012 12:48 AM | yes, agreed, Walmart definately sets off a redflag when buying, that was a stupid move on my part to think that i would get past it. Oh well tough lesson learned, now locked out of account for 180 day, thanks everyone for their replys and support! |
| newjerseymax | 05-25-2012 02:01 AM | Same thing with Sears.... |
| prohoops | 05-26-2012 05:55 PM | bestbuy is easy and you will have no problems at all. |
| punkskier | 05-27-2012 12:18 AM | thats really good to know, so how many times have you used bestbuy? |

And if you paid with pp I wonder what address you get things shipped to.
Do you have it sent to your real address then? |
It is really difficult to buy from Walmart.com using PayPal to pay, still not impossible , but if Best buy is easier, that will be very good advice. |
| GrannyT | 05-27-2012 04:42 AM | Hang on - none of this makes any sense
If every time a customer of Walmart pays with Paypal that customer is going to get grief then Walmart will drop Paypal like a hot potato. It needs its customers to have a hassle free purchacing experience. It isn't going to allow Paypal to destroy its customer base is it now?
I'm guessing that what we are talking about here is Paypal accounts that do not match the information going into Walmarts system. That to means the work around is to make sure, as we do with Ebay, that all information matches.
Insread of thinking we are doing something wrong we need to think how ordinary non-stealthers would react.
I cannot believe that every time some one uses a Paypal account to buy something from Walmart that account gets limited - makes no sense at all
:ranger: |
Actually the way Paypal sees it Walmart actually helps Paypal detect fraud due to non matching information non working phone etc that's the reason the account gets limited..... Go get Paypal money and quick go to Walmart and spend it and lie to Walmart with a disconnected phone number Walmart alerts Paypal and the rest is history..... |

Do you have it sent to your real address then? | Nope just pick store pickup, and if your paypal account is in a ⊗⊗⊗⊗ name, when your checking out just add your real name to the list of "Person picking up item."
Bestbuy does not ask any questions, and your order is ready to be picked up with 45 minutes of purchase.
They don't ask any question. They just take the money within minutes, and send you an email in about 45 minutes to pickup your items.
I've used them about 5 times in the last two weeks.
NO PROBLEMS!!!!! |

:ranger: | I've always had the money took from my account, and then 30 minutes to 2 hours later they walmart cancels the order. But PayPal has never limited my account. I guess because it's a business account? |
| punkskier | 05-28-2012 12:14 PM | About Bestbuy, i see that they require a billing adress to complete order. and i have a stealth adress in a different state to where i' be picking up at. would paypal flag this and again limit me. or would i be in the clear to do a pick-up order from bestbuy? please keep in mind that my account is pretty new. thanks and any answer is appreciated! |
| GrannyT | 05-28-2012 12:17 PM | Why take the chance? At this juncture no one seems to know for certain how this buying with Paypal and collecting is panning out. You have seen the posts made already so - why take the chance?

What are people buying at Wal-Mart that they feel the need to use Paypal? |

with paypal? lol, I think if I was going to buy something at Wal-Mart it would be something a little more desirable! but who am I to say what people buy with paypal. |
| punkskier | 05-28-2012 05:06 PM | paypal and walmart both suck! since this mess i'm out over $500! but as i said, i can complain all i want but thus is the rule "live and learn".. lesson learned for sure!.. once a stealth account is limited dnt even bother calling, your banned for sure. |
| prohoops | 05-28-2012 05:59 PM | Once again i'm telling you what I know about the bestbuy thing. Just did it today with the stealth account. I had to buy a cell phone for an employee who lost his phone.
So over the last two weeks I've purchased about $500 from bestbuy with the stealth account. Desk, Chair, Cell Phone, Office table etc. And they have not asked one question.
I bought my office phones from Circuit City, and they never asked any questions.
STAY AWAY FROM WALMART using PayPal. Like I said I have my stealth account in my dad's name, and they called him, and asked did him did he use PayPal to buy something off there website. He told them no. They canceled the order. PayPal did not limit the account.
My dads number is not listed any where online (I checked.) So how walmart got his number and called him still blows my mind.
If you try it after reading what I'm telling you, then your asking for them to limit your account, and freeze your money. |
| punkskier | 05-29-2012 11:43 AM | update: Bestbuy caused another stealth to become limited, about 2 hours after i paid, so the payment never went thru, paypal obviously redflagged it and put a hault on it, then limited my account. i know it was another crazy risky move, but had to try with this smaller account buying a cheaper item to test for myself. there are other reports of people in the same boat buying on Bestbuy as well. i'm glad some like prohoops ha luck, wish i did :( https://getsatisfaction.com/paypal/t...iness_at_stake |
| Nissan2nr22 | 06-01-2012 12:05 PM | I want to try bestbuy soon for getting money out of my stealth paypal. I wonder if anyone knows of any websites to get visa gift cards for in store pickup paying with paypal? |
@Nissan2r22, that sounds super risky but If your willing to try it, let us know how it goes. |
| Mr. Invisible | 06-01-2012 08:03 PM | Just to clarify....
Who has purchased from Home depot, Walmart or Best buy WITH 100% MATCHING DETAILS to stealth pp and been limited?
Not shipping to a PO box or other accessible address that matches what a confirmed pp has on file is probably the big red flag getting people instantly limited. |

I hate to be the bearer of bad news, but it has kind of been used to death at this point. However, when I was last attemting to cashout via Walamrt a few months ago, my Paypals wouldn't get limited, they simply wouldn't process the order. Walmart would decline the transaction, saying to use a different payment method other than Paypal. I have a feeling Paypal runs a soft credit check or the like now before letting someone make a purchase through Walmart.com and if it comes back as a ⊗⊗⊗⊗ name/address, the order will be declined. |
| jdizzle314 | 06-03-2012 05:47 PM | you guys can just ignore all of these problems and just order gift cards on ebay and have them sent via email...that is what i have been doing = ) |

Especially if you are selling a ton of stuff. |
| punkskier | 06-04-2012 09:49 PM | yes, i've tried the giftcard thing, and most sellers refuse to do so.. even sellers that have egift as their title, and clearly state in their listing that the giftcard will be emailed, even they end up wanting to send thru mail and refuse to proccess thru email :(.. what it's gonna take is we message and make a deal with someone on here to list an item (not neccessarly having to be a giftcard) premake a deal with them on which giftcard you want, and they send it to you email.. otherwise sellers are all the same they don't wanna email no way! |

| punkskier | 06-05-2012 01:13 PM | Right, so here's the idea for people like me that have no other alternative to cashout but using giftcards. Lets say I wanted to cashout $200.. Ok, so i'd make a deal with someone on here that has no problem cashing out! so they would list a random ebay item (other than a gift card, since ebay watches those closley) make the starting price for $200, I would bid on it and they would end the auction early so I would be the definate winner.. ok so considering ebay and paypal fees together are roughly 13%, and of course for your time and effort you would wanta make about $20 or so on the deal to profit yourself... to cover the fees and for some money yourself you would charge about $250-$260 in all.. add the extra $50-$60 charge in with shipping.. splended idea! | | All times are GMT -5.
