VPS, which one are you using? and why?

Hi, just seeking any recommendations, problems, issues with using a UK VPS service.
Anyone currently using one and what advice you would give for a first time user?
Thanks in advance for any suggestions etc

Hope you get some info - no experience here.

Use Google/Other Search Engine

Find "VPS" websites

Compare prices

Once you find an interesting site(s), do a research on them to see what others are saying

Make a decision

Find out if it was worth it through Trial and Error (no one will tell you what their using, because then it'll stop working)

GOOD LUCK!

I don't understand the last line...
Why would their VPS stop working if they told others what they're using?
If so, then noone's VPS can work as I don't believe one VPS provider would start a service and only have 1 client.

Go look up the meaning of

Too any cooks spoil the broth

That fits what RedX said

That's what I did...
But then, I still don't know what I should do to get my VPS set up after that?
Is that just it... just sign up with a VPS website?
How would I set up and access the server?
I'm totally clueless about this VPS, even though I've tried to read about it on wikipedia.
I felt the info bypass my brain... :noidea:

gee thanks....

people tend not to give out actual names of vps on forum, or mail forwarders, suppliers etc not because they do not want to share, but too many would use it and ip ranges can get banned...

I am in a pinch today. I have a few orders that needs to go out and my vps that I have been using is not going online. This is the only reason I am asking for this help. I can't afford to risk trying a new provider blindly when I already have orders on this particular ebay account.

If what sax4 said is true then it shouldn't matter, but others say different

Best thing is to take a free trial of a VPS until your other one is sorted out.

There is some forum in the US dedicated to showing all the free trials

Google "free VPS forum". I usually sign up with stealth details

Apart from appalling manners, what's your reasoning for the rudeness?

I notice you are a subscriber.

For many users who are located in the USA, VPS or VPN services are not needed.

It's well documented paypal/ebay detects them.

Users may risk being limited with this option.

Advice is not given freely either.

I would no more share what services I might use than say Good Day to you.

Good Day
