demonoid? i thought that went down??

pod 05-10-2012 10:25 PM

I haven't used demonoid or any torrent site for years. Why use torrents? I can direct download a movie in 10 minutes. Tv show in 2

Torrents are slow and useless IMO. Not to mention the million ⊗⊗⊗⊗

moneyhustler88 05-10-2012 10:49 PM

you think pod? for me torrents are faster than direct downloads..

pod 05-10-2012 11:00 PM

Never liked torrents. Too slow. I can get 3 or 4mbs direct. I can download a whole season of 22 episodes of a show directly in half an hour. Take a few hours at best with a torrent. More like days. But again, I haven't used torrents in forever so...

Think it also depends which country you in and if you are a member of a private site or not.

Demonoid is generally slow but has sooo much essential stuff on it - all highly legitimate of course ;) . I am a member of other torrent sites that will max out my connection when I d/l things.

Hopefully gonna get a free upgrade from 2mb to 10mb later this month. I think it is going to be a life changing moment!

I have yet to not find anything I looked for direct download. Software, movies, shows, whatever. Some older TV series are a bit hard to find. But I can always find what I need without torrents

All you need is a good premiere download account with a fast downloader like rapidshare, megashares or what ever.

That unfortunately does cost a few bucks a month. But I havent watched network TV in years so I download all my TV and movies and watch of my media center to big screen when ever I want. I download daily by the gig

Again, its not 100% free, but I get what I want/when I want.

torrents and direct download is fast for me, i hate direct download because i hate clicking on each link with seperate files and typing down the security keys etc lol.

yotano211 05-11-2012 03:07 AM

When I download torrents I usually download tons of stuff at once to max my download speed. I usually do 10 thing at once. I leave it on overnight with my small laptop so it does not waste too much power.

An fast FTP connection is another option. I had one a few years back & I could offload 22 GB in 2.5 hours flat.
