Dang sent wrong item 3 times
 

Hi guys,

This is pretty embarrassing.... Last week 3 customers got the wrong item... I managed to fix it with them. However now I am wondering about my checks and balances. I sell a lot of different products... I was sure to be careful, but guess not careful enough. I guess part if it was that I increased listings and it was slow, so I increased some more, still slow spread my sales some more and bam sales all hit at once on all accounts various websites. heck even had a ton on Bonanza on one day (ended up on that front page thingy they do) Not complaining about that!

I guess the question is, what can you suggest as your checks to avoid such a thing again? I feel like such a newbie, need some suggestions.

When I print my items it has the items name on the bottom which tells me what item should go in that package. I do orders with quantity differently and manually not to cause any problems.

Hum, I don't know how to be careful. I just print out the packing slip and put it with the item. Then just double check when boxing.

Also, do you print out your labels as soon as you box? Or do you do all your boxing and then print out your labels? I'm sure it's very easy to ship an item to an incorrect addy if you do the latter.

I print my labels... Then separate them by product, then separate by shipping type, then pack basically having few piles of identical items labels. I did this originally to avoid label shipping errors so that I wont put first class label on flat rate envelope ect...

What software do you use? Sounds like you ship a lot of stuff you should be using something that cuts back on all that extra work you are doing..

Now I know who sent me the wrong item 3 times in a row.

they emailed

i resent

they recieved the wrong item again

sometimes im my own worst enemy

I guess if you ship enough items you have to do it this way. I always print out the label as soon as I box. I know my partner does it your way. He packs everything up then writes what's inside & the weight on the actual package.

I mean it must happen to best of them, since ive gotten wrong items from virtually every company....

Wow, I've never had that problem cause I don't sell enough to make that mistake. I need to up my selling

Thanks! Not so much selling wrong item or out of stock... Just simple mistake of packing wrong item... I am so careful and it still happened. Drives me nuts... haha

I write on the back of my labels before I print them what the item is.

And I ship a ton of stuff and have made very few of these errors.

Max, slow down this is costing you money. :nono:

And I know you dont like spending your money.
