paypal is unable to confirm my phone! tried 3 different methods
 

so i made a few purchases on ebay on this semi fresh account... turns out that they need to do a phone verification in order to allow me to purchase. I tried a google voice # which didnt work, then i tried a tracfone, again no go! I did as much research as possible and then figured they needed a landline so i got a magicjack and again it didnt work... i registered the magicjack to the same address as the one on paypal, but the area code where it picked the # from was a nearby location, and not this exact place... i'm kinda unsure of where to go from here. sorry for being so disorganized with this post but i'm just really lost about where to go from here

hey sandy, yes for the magic jack # i did and yes the paypal account has been fully verified. I can get a code to verify the phone but when i go to pay they MUST call me and the same phones that can accept the text code don't work here... including the magicjack which I thought would have been the way to go

Simply PayPal will verify your number by sending text massage to your MOBILE number, GVoice will never going to work, magic jack..etc, simply buy a cheap prepaid sim card and you should be fine accepting the text massage

like i mentioned - i tried a few different phones, one was a prepaid tracfone and this DIDNT WORK!! G voice didnt either.... nor did the mjack! I tried all 3 choices (home-mjack/work-gv/mobile-trac)

I tried all the methods you mentioned, and finally just got a landline. It is simple enough to do, if you truly want that account.

Be prepared to answer the phone for verification about 20 times when you first start to buy. Look up under my postings for further info.

Move on and buy a prepaid like mentioned above.

Problem solved and headache gone.

my prepaid tracfone didn't work for this... nor did the magic jack... so i have to find a place to buy a landline now. fair enough

Gvoice support free SMS messages sent to a specified email address. I get text messages via gvoice all the time.
