Ebay tracking wifi?
 

Deal is i got a new ip by changing the mac address, new windows user account with clean flash/regular cookies, have my stealth account setup. Used my computer to list a bunch of items. Today i decided to use my two other laptops at home, created a new windows user one of the laptops, connected to my router, checked my IP (it was the new ip address that my main computer has). logged on using the accounts, listed a few parts on one laptop.
I then used my 2nd laptop did the exact same thing( new windows user, checked ip(it was the new ip as my main computer), logged on ebay and when i went to list, ebay stated that they dont recognize this computer and they need to confirm my identity by calling my phone number on file via an automated phone call.

This is normal correct?

you need a new IP address each time you log on a new account. If your using the same ip address for all those accounts then they will all be linked im afraid

they are NOT individual stealth accounts. I have one stealth account which i logged onto from my main computer and two of my laptop computers all of them are under the SAME ip address

Of course eBay will not recognize the second computer, you don't have any cookies from previous logins

farvardeen, You can have or make as many stealth accounts on as many Computers in your home BUT if you log onto ebay/paypal with the same IP from your router they will be linked and banned.

So as Dazza said, Every time you Log into Ebay/Paypal you must change the IP address and log them so you don't accidently use the same IP across other accounts.

Read the OP, all he did was logging in the SAME account onto two different computers.

yes what binary said. I logged onto that ONE ebay stealth account, I NEVER logged onto any of the banned ebay/paypal accounts.
The ip address i have is the NEW ip address that has NEVER been linked to any of my banned accounts (i know because i NEVER logged into the older account)

All i did was log into that ONE stealth ebay accounts using 3 computer under ONE ip address (1 computer was directly connected to the router, the others connected via wifi)
I made sure all the three computers had a new windows user account and double checked to make sure the ip are all the same before i logged in.

Like binary said.. it's because you don't have any cookies on that new computer. Cookies are extremely important these days.

Listing or transferring money with different IP & different cookies... :nono:

This looks :suspicious: to eb/pp and they want to call to make sure it's you.

i agree. are you guys telling me that you guys never used your laptop (besides your desktop if you have one) to list? this is exactly what i did, the ip was the same as my desktop pc. i know it shouldnt be a problem but the person i bought the account from she put some bogus telephone number on the account now i put a new telephone number (completely new call forwarding number) so i can at least receive the phone call but now it asked me contact costumer service haha what a joke huh :D

You can use more than 1 computer with ebay and paypal. Just don't start using a new computer for the first time and list something immediately.

ok here is the wierd thing, this morning i got on my main desktop computer and it let me list items without a problem. I guess ebays system resets after a period of time.

You should read up on cookies and how they work.

you see it keeps coming and going and i've only been using my main desktop these days. last night it worked for an hour or so and then suddenly out of no where ebay asked me to confirm my identity.
Could be because of the price of some of my listings which are thousands of dollars. I am expecting my first feedback within a few days, hopefully that clears the issue.

When using a new desktop, browse around a bit and bid even if you don't win. Are your listings on a new account?!
