Default Paypal lawsuit

I read some article today on auctionbytes, about how there is a class action lawsuit against ebay from 2010. Something to the effect that eb/pp are a monopoly, since not allowing any other online payment method on eb like google checkout, etc. Anybody else have any input on this? Think this may lead to acceptance of another method?

I thought you could set up some sort of merchant account to accept credit cards? Did they get rid of this?

I would love for other payments to be available. It's seriously ridiculous, i feel bad for people that make their living off ebay legally and then randomly get indefinitely suspended for no apparent reason.

That case has been going on a While, I think that is why Ebay started accepting Moneybookers, so that they can offer a "Choice"

What I find Funny is that this is NEVER Mentioned about Amazon,,,there is 1 Way, and 1 Way ONLY to pay for a Marketplace item on Amazon, and thats thru Amazon, Period, Case Closed,,,

True about amazon for sellers..but as for buyers, you arent forced to sign up for an account, like pp makes everybody do.

I've never heard about this lawsuit but I've been saying this about Ebay and Paypal being a monopoly for years. Usually when I have mentioned it on other forums I get people who have no idea what I'm talking about with the legality side of it. So I usually only mention it in passing.

But in any case, I wish the lawsuit well.

The lawsuit in the UK was not about their duopoly - it was about holding funds for 180 days after having complied with all Paypal demands - she won

So is the OP confusing that lawsuit with this or something?
