I opened a new premier Paypal account at my new address a couple of weeks ago. (really a belt and braces move in case the old account becomes compromised) It has now been verified. My old account at my old address is still going strong. Neither are stealth. Bank accounts etc are different. My name is the same. I changed date of birth. Once verified I gave more info to raise limits. Now they say the info they have doesn't match. Reading earlier posts it seems they can't verify your date of birth. Could it be that I have to change the account to busines from premier before completing the information or is there a more ominous reason?

from experience they cant verify your dob from public records (well im sure they can but they dont)

No, I wasn't making myself clear.

New address;new Ebay account; new Paypal account; new credit card; new bank account; new date of birth. The only thing which is the same as my current ebay and paypal account is my name. The account has been verified with two deposits and that, apparently, gives me unlimited purchases but only annual sales of £1900. To increase the limit I went through a further process with the direct debit mandate, then confirmation of personal details. That is the point when they said there was a discrepancy. Do you think they have connected with my other account? If I had some idea what the discrepancy was I would try again

they have tried to verify your personal details using public records which as you have a "new" address has failed

I think he is saying it is non - stealth as he is using his real name on PP and EB, so that won't make it Stealth.

I have physically moved address but retained the old account. So everything is true except for my age.

That's the reason for the discrepancy.

I would put my real DOB and when they ask for docs you can send them the real ones

Then create a new account - Stealth completely

i would say if youve recently moved house then your not on the electoral roll yet which is why it failed

I can understand the change of address by why just change the DOB? Unless your name is common like John Smith

might get away with the name if its common but name and dob your asking to be burnt

Same Name and DOB will LINK him...YES but if everything else is the same then he is creating another account with all the same details and there is no need to create another PP.

If he is creating another PP with those details then yes he will be LINKED

I'm beginning to confuse myself! Just proves how newbie I am at this stealth business. My 1st account has been running successfully selling what I think you term "low risk" branded clothes. I have just changed address but kept my 1st account at the old address and still trading it. Now I want to raise a 2nd account as a backup using the new address just in case I get veroed. I figured it would be a good idea to give a different age so as to throw them off the scent. I agree I' m not on the electoral role yet. It depends now upon what docs they ask for. If it's a rent agreement, or council tax bill then no problem.

Just to clarify, it's a NEW ebay and NEW paypal account

I would suggest you contact PP and state that you are a new to this and didnt know you needed One PP for 2 EB accounts. Change it so that you have 2 accounts to one PP all in your real infor, Its only the DOB that's different and am sure they will understand that.

Then if you want another account everything will have to be new, No links to any of your other accounts.

Ahem. I already have two ebay accounts to one paypal at the old address. Frankly I seem to have bodged it all up. Certainly compromised the new address. Now I wonder if I should completely cancel the new pp and eb then change the address on the old ones. In view of what I am selling do you think this would get the account flagged?

If all the infor is real then ring PP and explain it to them.
If you cancel without any explanation your other accounts might get red flagged.

By the way what were you selling?

Branded shirts. Perhaps I should just let sleeping dogs lie. I'm using the new account to buy the occassional item anyway

once they have the info even if you change cancel it they will keep it forever

OK fellow members, I give up, I'm useless at subterfuge. I need someone with a devious mind to help me out of this hole I've dug for myself. The options open to me as I see it are:
1. Close the new pp and eb accounts then transfer my old account to new address
2. Let the new accounts to rot and transfer my old account
3. Leave the new account to rot and leave the old account where it is
4. Use the new account for purchases only and leave the old account where it is
5. Ditto but transfer my old account
6. Telephone pp and explain I put the wrong date of birth in TWICE. Both when I filled in the initial application form and when I confirmed the details

The most important consideration is to aviod compromising the old account which is my bread and butter.

old acc is in real details - right? so leave that alone, assume you lifted limits on it already

second account is in new address, real name, another dob, you can either submit info for this one or leave it to reset limit yearly, sell on it a little and use it to buy.

do not call and draw attention to yourself, no need.

as mentioned, there is one element you are not considering and it is simple.....you have to get more sneaky mind-set.....

new future stealth accs are an option.....

You've got it. The old account dates back to before 2007; went abroad for a few years and stopped using it; came back and traded immediately without any limits, no questions asked. I just worry that something will happen to upset the apple cart and I'm stuck without income.

your whole income rests on these 2 accs? it is a bad idea to let ebay be your only income regardless...but certainly some back ups would help...
