Anyone know of any shops that let you pay online with PP and Pick Up instore?

I would think that any store taking paypal and then allowing local pickup are going to want to see matching identification..

Yes for example, matching your Boots.com give name, but.........

Argos uses paypal and you can collect or have delivered :laugh:

Some stores don't check ID if you find a person who doesn't really care. Most of the time from my experience they check your ID which needs to be matching with the PayPal. Just look around for a college student that works there, I'm sure they will let it slide ;)

boots does accept pay first and pick up, saw this on their T & C ;

Bring your order confirmation page to the store you have chosen and collect your parcel, usually from the photo area of the store. Alternatively, you can ask a member of our team to help you with your order. If you don't have your order confirmation please bring your order number and a suitable form of photo ID. As long as you bring a copy of the order confirmation page into store or show your 'ready to collect' text message you will not be required to provide proof of your identification. However if you only have the order number with you, you will be asked for identification (Photo identification such as a driving licence, passport, bus pass etc).

For security if you are unable to collect the parcel, the person collecting on your behalf will need to supply the order number and proof of the order e.g order confirmation page or 'ready to collect' text and provide identification. They will also be asked to sign for the parcel.

^^basically boots are saying the paypal holder needs to pick up then no ID, as long as confirmation slip/text shown. or you nominate someone and they need the slip/text to show. Only time you are required to show ID is if you just have conf number and no slip/text....seems easy to sort....

argos is no good, as pick up is pay in store, not via paypal.

Just say you forgot your ID and they will ask your name and address and should not be a problem. In most cases ring them up and say that you will be picking it up or someone on your behalf.

It might not work with the bigger companies like Boots or Argos.....That's if they take PP

Just an additional thought:

The person who you name has to be you or someone with an ID.

I notice that in the UK John Lewis are right on top of it, says that if you pay by PP you need to bring a Driver's License or Passport.

I've done it quite a bit and never had a problem with walmart. I even misspell my real pickup name as to not trigger any paypal bots, although I don't think that info matters, only the shipping/billing address which wouldn't matter for in store.

FYI: I've even bought and returned to walmart and with a paypal purchase, they have refunded me cash every time. This may be luck, but each time, they have been really confused, didn't know how to proceed and just gave me cash. I tried the same at home depot and they did credit it back to paypal.

Ok so if I try it, it will be from a stealth so the person that picks it up will be me in my real name and take REAL ID but just take confirmation letter / number?

i would take confirmation ltter and a print out of the t&c incase they question it and tell you, you need id.


Anyone using , just veriation of first name and same last name keeping first letter of your first name original should get away with the like of john lewis.

my bank cards and come like j.doe instead of john doe.

DOLLAR GENERAL stores will allow you to buy merchandise using your PAYPAL phone number and PIN#. I tried it once and I was able to purchase a prepaid debit card.

Are you talking about the PIN connected to a PP Debit Card?

HOME DEPOT allows you to check-out using paypal in the store.
