What are your experiences like with this?
 

I usually like to let my accs age for a little before i turn them into sellers. So far i have seen positive effects with it. I do not understand why eb*y/pp would see this as something that makes them give more trust to the seller. In my eyes the faster you make your account, get it verified, add bank acc, and all the other stuff would mean your serious about your business and you know what you are doing so you should get a better selling limit. But i guess they see it as the longer you take the more time you account sits inactive the more trust worthy you are.


Just wondering what your experiences are with this. Have you ever created a seller within 2-3 days? What were the limits like? Ever wait more than 4 months to turn it into seller? Did it make any difference to you?

You guys see where i am going with this. Share anything that you have found out or you find interesting.

I believe its due to eba/pp experiences.

If you want to start a business, you have to do it slow. There is no way around that. A HUGE percentage of businesses fail. Eb/pp are responsible for these failures as they tank into their bottom line when it all comes down to it. limits shows them what you can/cant do. They act on these accounts accordingly. If you are just a hobby seller and just want to list a few nick nacks, you wont really need to go above their initial limits (in their eyes)

The more you let an account sit, makes you look like you are trying just to look around before taking the plunge, you are making a business plan, etc. Scammers will not do this. They make fly by night accounts and take the money. Eba/pp left holding the tab even with verified accounts (since they can be doctored)

As far as selling on 2-3 day old accounts: Ive created many accounts like this. I call them and act like I do not know what I am doing on accounts just hours old and list right away as the rep is on the phone. I sometimes get the limits increased, most times I did not. But this helps to make them trust you easier. Dunno why, but it does. lol

I have listed 100 items right away (but spacing them apart) on accounts made just minutes earlier, using up my entire allowance for that month. But it can also bite you in the back and get you the MC081 if you aren't careful in the way that you list them.

Ebay doesn't care about sellers. They only care about buyers. That's why it's easy to get flagged. Sounds like you're using a solid tactic though. :cool:

Unless you have all the documentation they need (ID proof, business incorporation etc,invoices etc) , its best to let the account age.

But if you have all that, I would start selling immediately.

Upload all the documents. Give them a call. Make sure they will make an account on your note that you called and are going to start selling.

Now you can start selling. You will get limited for sure, but then upload everything again and give them a call. I get unlimited within hours normally if I call and get in priority review.
