will there be a probem with sending a $2200 payment to a company via Paypal???

OK I need to pay a company $2200 for something I ordered online. The goods I purchased are all replica items but the company has an online bridal store as a front so they can take Paypal payments. To make payment I will just go on the bridal store website, enter my order # which comes up as a $2200 wedding dress and I will make direct payment via Paypal from there website. My question is will I be OK sending a $2200 payment or will Paypal limit my account because of the large amount to verify things or contact me first. I have had the Paypal account for almost 2 years now, fully verified and all. There's been plenty of times where I have gone shopping on Ebay spending $1000 a day and I also send $600 every 3 weeks to my girlfriends Paypal account with no issues. Am I pretty much OK because I have had the account for so long with no issues? My Paypal balance is a little under $3000...

If the company has a paypal business account then it should be no issue but any payment to premier account for large amounts can be risky. Any purchase's weather small or large from any reputable company will go through but again you are taking a risk that I would not. I would actually use entropay to dealing with people for large amounts the first-time then use paypal after.

Maybe someone else can chime in.

Wow you have that much sitting in paypal. Why not withdraw it and pay with a debit card. That way you no fear of ever getting limit with paypal.

With paypal no one is ever sure about things but if the account is real and fully verified and you have all your documents ready then why not, go for it.

Sounds like a lot of $$$ to keep in one pp account. But i don't suggest selling "replica" items, as they are bound to get you banned. Just my advice. :nono:

Here is why it is a risk. If PayPal suspects they are selling "replicas" then it could have negative consequences for you. For that type of thing, you really don't want to involve PayPal. Use a debit card that offers you the same protection as a credit card (many banks offer this) and eliminate your risk.

I also have to agree with PitViper about the whole foo-foo thing. The government and eBay/Amazon are really starting to crack down on this stuff. Rights owners have undercover buyers making purchases from eBay and Amazon sellers. Selling this stuff was easy at one time, but it has become very risky.

Do whatever you like, of course, but be aware that if you are caught there are consequences. Selling such things is not a risk free way to make a lot of money. The higher your profits, the higher the risk. There is no free lunch.

Good advice there, you should really think before you act.

My paypal was mostly for personal stuff and business purchases. I have done up to 8k payments to china suppliers with no issues. But then again, my paypal was never linked to a risky ebay account or anything like that..

bsg1979 07-25-2012 11:42 PM

Yeah this paypal account isn't linked to an Ebay account. I only use it for receiving payments not through Ebay auction and buying stuff. I just sent payment and the system did a verification call to my phone # on file and asked for full bank account #. I guess we will see how it goes...

Keep several separate pp accounts going for buying only.

Expect a phone call and to have the payment put under review.
