Used Book Removed by VERO

VERO is cracking down guys. I just had a used hardcover book removed for copyright violation. Next up on ebay's target list will be used furniture, cars, and old clothes. That bottle of glue you're selling? Watch out!

How do you know this?

Personally I think of Vero as always cracking down...

vero is a broad spectrum. It involves bots, which you can avoid. And it also includes crazy buyers/.If you get a crazy buyer who goes as far as calling ebay/calling the company they will log on and remove active auctions. A company not to be named, did it a few months ago.Sadly 3-4 my accounts had an active listing and got mc'd for the listing. Since then? I only list 1 day auctions on the weekends, recently i am back to daily 1 day auctions. It could happen again. But my point? Start outsmarting them!! Or get a job

Since when used books cannot be re-sold? Have you contacted the publishing/vero company?

It was a MC999.

I don't see anything giving me the option to file a counterclaim. Ebay just tells me to contact the vero member at their email.

That's what I've been asking myself. Ebay should have seen that it was a bogus claim and refused. But evidently, you all you have to do is complain and no matter how legitimate the item is it'll simply be removed by ebay.

I did email the publisher yesterday, but I don't expect them to get back to me so soon. To tell the truth, I'd be surprised if they contact me back at all. I'm fully prepared to dispute this with ebay.

If ebay is taking down used books just imagine the amount of VERO nonsense that's probably going on that we are not even aware of. For the record the book I was selling was collectible and not just some garbage used book. Maybe the publisher didn't like the fact that I was trying to make a profit off of one of their books without their consent.

You mean an ARC? No, regular retail hardcover edition.
