Yes, banks have them in their file, in case of fraud, thats how many criminals get caught, they always have access to any credit card ever issued. and so it never gets issued to anyone again..

Vague claims are made that info is destroyed then.
The reality I know is that some info might be stripped out & deleted. The vast majority is retained....until the world ends
If the account was deliquent at any time, its info is kept...
