| | | Suspended...in mid air | 08-03-2012 07:20 PM | Linking accounts by PO BOX Is it possible for ebay/amazon/paypal to link your account by PO BOX?
I had stealth accounts set up and they were later linked (rookie move) by old paypal email in turbo lister being added to listings. Now, I have a PO BOX which I used on these now suspended/linked accounts, if I start over with another stealth account, would I stick my foot in my mouth again by using the same PO BOX? I mean, its a PO BOX...
What do you guys think? :help: |
| AmazonStealth | 08-03-2012 07:24 PM | PO BOX is death trap....do not include "PO BOX" on your address |
| yotano211 | 08-03-2012 07:27 PM | You have to understand that a PO box is like a real address. It accepts mail from USPS and other parcel carriers. By law USPS has to deliver to every address in the US.
So yea, they will link you by the PO box number. Get a new PO box or make up a stealth address.
There are mail box places out there that don't have PO Box in their address, they just have "#". It looks like you live in a apartment complex instead of a PO box. |
| Suspended...in mid air | 08-03-2012 07:33 PM | Sorry guys, I didn't make myself clear.
I will be using a stealth address of course. But later on as a ship to address only, I would like to use the PO BOX. Not as my registration address. |
| GreenBean | 08-03-2012 08:50 PM | If that PO Box has been used B4 on other accounts, it is enough to LINK you with this new account
:pop2: |
| slim jim | 08-04-2012 12:05 PM | USPS allows street addressing (is that english?). Check it out on their website, very useful |
| First Edition | 08-04-2012 01:58 PM | po boxes provide you no protection to anything whatsoever... there is no such thing as a stealth po box address because of the paperwork you have to fill out at the post office
Don't use it, it's stupid. Sorry for the candor, but it's stupid. Leave it at that.
A UPS store box on the other hand.... actually works like a real street address, whereas a po box address is NOT a real street address. A UPS store box doesn't provide stealth either.
The only advantage to a po box is that you can't be served with a subpoena... but, don't think it's bulletproof, or stealth. |
| Mr. Invisible | 08-07-2012 02:01 PM | Keep the PO box address off ebay and you can operate fine using it as a return address. NEVER message the address through their system or have an ebay seller ship to that address (they might use ebay/pp for labels).
The above being said, it only takes one crazy buyer to ruin everything.
No PO box is stealth, they all need personal info on file. If you need to get around that for whatever reason the best stealth option is don't do returns. |
| slim jim | 08-07-2012 02:28 PM | why is a po box not stealth compared to ups? you can use the street address of the post office |
| Artann | 08-07-2012 02:33 PM | So how do you guys accept returns? |

True stealth would be making any address, and telling people to return to a different address where you can get it. |
FYI FE
Recently the Postal Service made a huge change, probably to compete with The UPS stores where some Post Offices offer the use of the Post Office street address so customers can get packages from UPS Fed Ex etc. |

BTW I read somewhere that you can use just the street address for PO Boxes now. |

| newjerseymax | 08-08-2012 05:02 PM | You can and I just picked up the forms... Yes there are forms... |
| slim jim | 08-08-2012 05:19 PM | the only form i had to fill out there was the initial application. they even let you put additional names to accept packages from. if the package is too big you will need id to match but if you have a bigger box and it fits in the box, ching ching. |
| Artann | 08-08-2012 08:23 PM | How do you guys deal with the new AZ return method where customer requests a return from az website and you have to approve it? Do you just email your customers the address where you want them to return it? |
| newjerseymax | 08-08-2012 10:26 PM | The forms they gave me today was 3 pages and official usps header...
I have inquired about the use of address at other locations and they acted as if it did not exist... so maybe its very YMMV.
I am going to copy the form and provide it for each usps box... 7 in total... Various locations throughout US. |
| slim jim | 08-08-2012 10:29 PM | jersey- im not sure they actually do anything with those forms. i currently street address for my po boxes and so far so good. most of the employees are clueless and always have been which makes me understand why USPS is in so much trouble |

I have been through one experience to another. Some employees stating you cant use a business name to other promoting use of business. Some have no clue you can use address, while other give me the forms...
You are right they do have serious issues.... Plus loosing packages is my peve... I have dealt with 20+ lost packages in last several months... |
| slim jim | 08-09-2012 12:20 PM | oh i hear ya loud and clear. when i was going strong i was shipping a lot of high end equipment. the manager always came out and got my packages but they never scanned them in. one of them got lost and since it was not scanned in my insurance is trying to not pay me. of course the manager is clueless. sick sick world | | All times are GMT -5.
