paypal just limited: ebay OK

This happened to me this morning as well. Really bad timing, as it is a long weekend in Canada, and a great time for sales.

My Paypal account has been limited, but the eBay account seems to be fine for now. The note from Paypal states that the limitation is permanent and cannot be appealed. I assume its because of 2 disputes that were opened last week (both of which have been resolved to the satisfaction of the buyers).

The eBay account is a good one, and one I would like to keep running if possible. Can I open a new Paypal account and link it to this eBay account??? And if so, would I use the same info (name, number, address, etc) as is used in the eBay account I want to link it to? Or completely different info? I'm not clear on this point form the previous postings.

Also, if its different info, would I have to create a new user on the computer, and start using the old eBay account and new Paypal with the new computer user account?

FYI: I sell BIN - no auctions.

Dont mean to be a pain, but if anyone has been here before, or even has thoughts or opinions, I'd love to hear them. I have been receiving emails all day from buyers who are trying to make payments via Paypal for items purchased on the still-open eBay account, and are receiving automated messages to contact me regarding payment, as their Paypal payments are not going through.

PS: I've spent 2 hours going through the forum today, and have found the same question asked many times, but have been unable to find an answer.

This is strange! I have just had a paypal account limited but the ebay account is fine.

I cannot list anything on the ebay account until i log into paypal and fix the problems there it says! :smash:

You can list on eb but you will have to find different payment modality like MB( aka Skrilla)

I can list at all rsot. Pretty dissapointed cos this ebay account is awesome.

why dont you try and disconnect the bad paypal from ebay first, then try and list with a different paypal and trying to list?

How do i disconnect them exactly?

I am logged into my ebay ACCOUNT section. When i click on paypal account option i am given 2 options. Sign up to paypal or "link my paypal to account".

I dont see any unlink options. Do i just go ahead and use the "link my paypal account option"? Or should i unlink somehow first?

mm yeah link it, plus go to paypal and make sure under auctions your ebay acc is not on there.

dont use an important paypal to link it to, or just make a new disposible on, cos this set up is not necessarily going to last long...there was a uk thread on it somewhere

Did you get an invoice/documentation request on the PayPal? When I get that, the eBay account gets the exact same problem as you just described, and tells me that I cannot list any new auctions until I resolve the issue with PayPal. I generally just leave it to die at that point...

but this account is long from dead is it not ?

You have tried to solve pp issues and cannot? so the linked paypal is flagging the ebay, and giving you this message when you try and sell.

Have you sent the docs they needed? If not - yes account is over or try to live chat sort it out.
