PayPal Business Debit Card without SSN?
 

So I upgrade one of my accounts to a business account. I want to apply for a paypal business debit card but they are asking for SSN. Can I just add my EIN to the account without giving them my SSN?

EIN is actually better from the viewpoint of Paypal. To get an EIN you have to register with the IRS and provide quite a bit of business detail. They know you are not a fly by the night lets risk it eBay/Paypal seller. If you have an EIN normally you collect Sales Tax for your home state etc. Goes a long way in PayPal's perception.

Search the forum a bit more. Many have claimed using EIN with PP to avoid using your original SSN is useless.

My issue isnt to rake in thousands of dollars through paypal. I just want to get a debit card to make purchases using the paypal funds. I already had used my SSN on a limited account.

I am just letting you know, no matter what your intentions are, you may want to pace yourself in thinking that this EIN will make you invincible.

Why would you get an EIN just to use the debit card. Something seems funny about what you are trying to do.

You are increasing your risk by trying to get the debit card. Not worth it IMO
