Default paypal EIN Sufficient now or still requiring SSN?

For those of you who provided your EIN to paypal. How is that working out? Are they still asking for SSN of the account holder or are they now satisfied with the EIN as it complies with IRS requirements?

Just started reselling on ebay and I am using my companies info and EIN

I know nothing is for sure with paypal/ebay but I just want to know before I still doing some serious business.

It has been said they can still ask for SSN. So, good luck.

^^^ And that may work at random. But, OP continues to insist on his/her "serious business" in more than one post. That's the big issue here.

Year and a half with an EIN. I got my 1099k as they said would happen. No problems thus far.

If you are using your companies EIN and you are not the owner they will be held tax liable when they report the income for that paypal assuming you are over the 20k threshold.

I have been fine with the EIN. I should think that PayPal would request an SSN only if they needed it for identity verification. The IRS is fine with the EIN for tax reporting purposes.

Although ebay does not want previous violators back on ebay for obvious reasons, I believe that they will not require you to provide a SSN if you have already entered an EIN unless you are causing major issues. I say this because as long as you are following the rules and not making yourself stand out by horrible customer service or sketchy products, then they want you to sell. And by law they need you to provide tax info. If you provide paypal with legit EIN information for taxes, then they will not go out of their way to make you provide more information, when the EIN is essentially what is needed.

I too want to know this very well, i was doing ebay with my little brother and soon to realize he is a brat and doesn't respect his older brothers decisions.I had messed up with my original account and mothers account and when i finally learned the proper way of using ebay i asked him to join me and open an account under his name.

Everything is 100% fine now i just want to make my own account and start selling again without dealing with the little brat(his account is fine 500 feedback 100%), the accounts were suspended at my old address. Can i create an LLC and a DBA with this new address? We did sell on my brothers account in the new address and have not ran into any problems. I will create a debit and credit card under my DBA name etc.

My only concern is the SSN and address.....
