My latest eB adventure...
Thought I'd share my latest adventure in the world of eB. So I have this VeRO product that I've been selling since the very beginning. Virtually BULLETPROOF in regards to getting VeROed in fact for the last 3 years or so I never had a single listing taken down.
All of a sudden I make a sale to this buyer who not only makes claims of my product being ⊗⊗⊗⊗ he goes the whole 9 yards. He gets a refund, leaves a blazing all CAPS neg and contacts ALL my last 30 or so customers who left positive and tells them their purchase was counterfeit. Now I had to deal with 15+ buyers from previous sales questioning authenticity and asking for refunds. Now my inventory being ⊗⊗⊗⊗ or authentic is irrelevant so I'm leaving that in the wind.
SO, I leave this account which I've had since 2008, and started to sell on in 2010 on hold for 3 weeks. It's one of my better ones been taking in $2k-$5k in profit per month at least for the last 2 years, 5 star DSRs, 100% pos feedback until that last guy, powerseller and top rated.
I come back 3 weeks later after I settle all the shenanigans from the incident and decide to list some auctions. I take a look at the asshole who gave me the problems in the first place and guess what? HE STARTED TO SELL THE EXACT SAME ITEMS HE CLAIMED WERE FRAUDULENT AND HE EVEN TOOK MY AUCTION STYLE WORD FOR WORD COPY+PASTED.
Anyways, I forget about it. No big deal, I'll probably get him back later if I want. I list 6 auctions thinking everything is dandy. One day later BAM I get two MC999s VeRO from the company who has never taken a single listing from me. Keep in mind I have 4 other accounts selling the same exact item with NO problems even now.
And finally here is the mistake I made...I only waited one week to try again. This was beyond impatient on my part. I thought I was super slick...waited a week and listed "Buy it Now" style for 10 items on the WEEKEND mind you. I *thought* VeRO took a break on the weekends. Here's the weird thing I sold all 10 on Saturday with no problems $600 profit for an hour of work breezy. I packaged them all up+my other accounts and head to the post office, first thing I find when I come back from the post office *MC999 you've been restricted from selling indefinitely*...No point in trying to fight this account is a goner.
LESSON LEARNED: when an account gets into trouble BE PATIENT FOR THE LOVE OF GOD let things ride out, the account is much more valuable even if you have to wait 3 months. I lost an asset that took in roughly $30k per year of profit because of impatience. This could have so easily been avoided if I had just switched inventory to sell or waited a couple months...
On the plus side my Paypal was not limited so it now has a whopping 27 cents after I drained it and the asshole who started all this is no longer selling my items...
