Need Help with IP Address Situation!!

Hey guys I am kind of stuck here with an IP address situation that I got myself into. I've searched the boards but couldnt find a straight answer. I don't think anybody has ever dealt with this exact scenario before.

Well here it is...my power went out while I was on eBay and I got the bright idea to use my phone as a wifi hotspot. Well the problem is I forgot that I've used my phone's IP address on a suspended account before. So I am scared that my new account (that I worked so hard on with 160 Items/$7000 in 2 months) will become linked and suspended.

But here's the kicker....

I didn't log into eBay with the old suspended IP. All I did was go to eBay and look at some listings. My account was already logged in from before with my new clean IP address.

So does anybody know if this scenario will get me linked to my old account? Do I have to actually log in with the old IP to get linked? Or does simply visiting the eBay website do the trick? I haven't received a suspension email yet but I also don't know how long it usually takes to get suspended when IP addresses get linked.... I am going crazy right now and I'm really scared. I have over 100 listings up and I really don't want to make a new account and start all over again!

You should be OK.

Sit back and stop worrying - what will be will be

Your saving grace is the IP is on a mobile network.........

It's a known fact that the range of IPs is limited.
It's entirely possible that an IP may be used that has been used before........

that is rarely a problem so long as it is a one off thing AND the account is otherwise OK.

Long way to say should not be a problem :peace:

Be more attentive in future :)

Thanks Greenbean, I knew you would come through with a great reponse to my dilemma!

I really do need to wake up and be more careful!!! I have just been so stressed out lately and not thinking straight. I lost my job and have turned to eBay as a means of income. So, I really can't get this account suspended or its back to 10 items and $500...which does not pay the bills..especially in Chicago!

Just go calmly, quietly.

If you have been going OK to date, this is just a glitch.

No need to develop to an 'owie'.
You will be fine.
:peace:
