Paypal documents question.

Hello, quick question about paypal docs.

In order to remove £1900 limit, I submitted a recent bank statement and passport.

Paypal replied saying they need better proof of address as the bank statement has only my initials.

'Note: The document must show your full name and address as registered on
the PayPal account. If the document only shows initials, a proof of
identity is needed as well. The document cannot be older than 12 months and
needs to be fully visible.'

However they said, if it only has initials, it is OK when a valid ID is also supplied (my passport).

Should I phone them up to address this issue? Or pursue another route?

Thanks

is it a stealth account ?

Stormcrow 08-29-2012 08:55 AM

Not a stealth account as such.

The documents are real. My own real name and ID.

Only thing is I had a suspended account years ago for being linked to another suspended account. This was at a different address.

As this new account has not been blocked yet, I assume no links have been made.

I don't have any other bank statements at the new address so unsure about what I should do.

with regards to the issue with the documents, personally from what you have told me, i'd call them and explain that the statement only comes with the initial

they MAY ask you to send a different proof of address ie utility bill which again from the info supplied im sure you can provide

they have your docs now so theres not really a way out, just hope they dont spot the link

with regards to linking

if you have a common name and used a different DOB. email, phone, etc etc, then you might get away with it

however a link is a link and id get some true stealth accounts gping as back up

Account now fully limited. They've asked for the works now...

Bank account DONE
Credit card NOT DONE
Photo ID NOT DONE
Address NOT DONE
Invoices NOT DONE
Complaints DONE
Bussiness info DONE
Proof of delivery NOT DONE

Is it worth jumping through their hoops or will they block anyway?

Thanks

ZoonVoo 08-29-2012 11:03 AM

I think they linked you already

Stormcrow 08-29-2012 11:05 AM

It appears they have - he asked 'Have you had an account with us previously?'

I'm thinking forget the account and start afresh.

will a new ebay be also needed?

Thanks again

i thought they had your passport ?

if so address and invoices are not hard to give them, do as they ask

theres nothing to lose at this stage

Stormcrow 08-29-2012 12:20 PM

I uploaded the passport and bank statement without being requested.

After a few days they said upload them again.

Enquired and was told the documents they received are blank, they couldn't do anything with them.
And then they totally limited it. This is why I was concerned, as I have not hit the £1900 limit.

I could fax through all the documents again.

Stormcrow 08-29-2012 12:34 PM

I think they will link them without doubt as the old account was also in the same name and dob.

However address, bank account, credit cards are all different.

they_screwed_me_too 08-29-2012 12:58 PM

if they say they came through blank then thats why the extra limitation

send them again and dont panic

you are likely linked but nothing to really lose at this stage

fight the good fight :amen:

Appreciate your replies.

Will give it a shot.

Account was limited on Wednesday 4pm. They asked for all documents.

I submitted all documents except the card. On Thursday at 4pm they told me they had reviewed it, but some information (credit card) was missing.

I got a 3Vcard and uploaded it, confirmed the four digit code.

How long should I wait before contacting them again?

The accounts gone mate..i'd just wipe your tears and move on..its very rare that after submitting documents they'll do anything..all botted to a close account now..

What a load of tosh.

I've had numerous accounts restored after giving them what they want (or rather giving them what they think they want)

At this stage, you've got NOTHING to lose and EVERYTHING to gain. Try and give them what they want. No harm in giving them a call to get the agent to put your account back into the review queue.

Good luck!

Good luck buddy, remain calm on the phone if you speak with them and fingers crossed this will be sorted for you soon
