re: whats to stop paypal trying to take money from previously linked bank account?
 

Hi folks,

From my own experiences i still have a negative balance with paypal due to past problems that a kindly dropshipper left me to deal with...

I removed my bank account when the doodoo started to hit the fan. However as has been said before pp keep a record of everything - with that in mind are they likely to 'attempt' to try and take funds from the previously linked account?

In terms of a stealth account with the same issue - surely if they tried to do this and it got bounced back by the bank then pp would find out the real name on the bank account that was linked?

Something to worry about as a stealther if you get a negative and wont/dont pay or do paypal not attempt this if bank account has been removed?

I don't know if they do or not but I would contact your bank and shut Paypal out of the account. Then it will not be a problem

If in a stealth instance would the correct name be highlighted back to pp if they attempt dd and bank refuse it. Ebay are still trying to charge fees for items they have refunded...out of principle i dont see why i should pay fees for sales that have been refunded by me already...or at least from my account. And if this was to happen again on a stealth account whereby even if i refund a buyer the fees dont get refunded by ebay. I wouldnt want to pay the fees but would they use previously linked bank details to attempt dd and ultimately gain my real name etc....no biggy just curious whether icor would be after stealth me or real me. Does the bank just refuse dd or do they send back real me details with the refusal?

All a bank will do is back the dd as not payable. Why would they give any information? it's not relevant to the situation - simply 'declined'

I would advise AGAINST using the same pp to buy and sell with a dropshipper. Use 2 separate accounts.

Thank Granny T, like everyone else my stealth account was a struggle to get going and even against GBs best advice i had to 'supply' ID and i would hate to thing a repeat of what ebay have done to me in the past could happen to my stealth - meaning my only option would be to pay the fees that they arent owed rather than walk away from the account or risk them finding out i am not me...

Rsot, agreed, i did not know this in the past but regardless the dropshipper still has my money and is somewhere in cyberspace no doubt scamming other poor buggers in the same way. thank you though for your suggestion but im unsure i will ever trust another dropshipper unless i can meet them personally.
