Using Proxies with Wingate Proxy Server

My problems are with Paypal, not Ebay (I'm not an Ebay seller), so my question only pertains to Paypal.

I'm trying to create a couple of new PayPal accounts, per the guidebook I bought here, after having my PayPal accounts limited. I talked to the guy who does my IT support for my office about having him set up a VPN and he suggested I use proxies instead.

I told him that proxies won't work and gave him all the reasons from the ebook, but he said he would set them up using some software called "Wingate." They would be local proxies so that the location of the IP addresses match with the general locale of the address I give PayPal.

The IT guy assures met that there is no way PayPal will be able to detect that these are proxies. He first set up proxies like these for a ticket broker client who buys mass quantities of online tickets for concert tours and such. The IT guy said he tested them and that there was no way to identify them as proxies, plus the client has never been busted by any of the big ticket etailers.

Anyone heard of Wingate? Any thoughts?

There is no need for VPN, Proxies. If you can change IP address, it's enough.

While we are on the top I would like to ask you, anyone who knows.

If I was to go for vacation to say Punta Cana and was to login into my PayPal or Ebay account or both using VPN (and my laptop which I use for eBay) with an IP address that no one else used before from my local location in Canada. Would that be okay with eBay and or Paypal? Right?

If you go on vacation, I think it's best to leave your PC on at home, and access it via Teamviewer from your laptop.

Not sure if switching user accounts via Teamviewer works thou ( In case you want to manage multiple accounts while on vacation ).

Way to hijack the thread.

That is EXACTLY my issue .... What if you have multiple user accounts .... Once you disconnect you modem in order to reset your ip , you lost your connection so there is no way for you to reconnect again. But my friend told me there is some way through some DNS software.

The advantage is that I can set up a new user on my computer for each account (I'll have 4 for now) and each account will have its own permanent IP address. I won't have to change the IP address each time I want to use a different account, I just switch users and it will be all set.

Besides, that answer doesn't respond to my question. I'm asking if anyone is familiar with/has experience with the software and if so, has an opinion on its effectiveness in hiding from PayPal the fact that I'm using a proxy.

If Wingate works as advertised you'd end up with a different IP address for each user no matter from where in the world you connect. The IP addresses would always be the same for each respective user.

I have used wingate long time ago to bridge 2 cable modems in order to get double speed. A lot of people used to do that. They would get like 5 cable modems and bridge them together using wingate.
