Now account limited for a second time - want ID and ownership proofs again!!! Why?
 

hey everyone,

one of my stealth accounts has been hit with an account limitation again - this is the 2nd time in 6 weeks.

I provided ID first time around, which satisfied them and got the account opened to me again. Now they are asking for the same ID, but proof of ownership of items I had listed but most have since sold.

In the last case I had to take pictures of myself holding said items, how do I do that now?

Strangely all my active listings are still listed so far...

What now?

This another eBay limitation rather than PayPal?

What now? Give them what they want. Something must have triggered this, since you've already been through 1 limitation.

Spike in sales? Different items sold? Anyway, give them what they want and hope for the best!

Instead of asking the FORUM, call up pp and say wth, I just got my account unlimited with ID - whats the problem? Maybe you will be better off doing that.

Thats the only issue I have

All current items listed still active

Then give them receipts. Are they used or new items?

Just thinking previously they asked for pics of 3 items

I should be able to cover that as I have multiples of some of the items

When you phone ebay, you say when I had the limit removed on whatever day, I supplied ALL the documents then. That info is on file.

Ask for a supervisor. Get their name & BE COOL.

it was an email and then a message through ebay messages GB.

They are asking me for proof of old items sold, some went through ebay, some sold offline. But I have multiples of a few of the items, but not many.

It is pathetic mercurial isnt it, but those are the hoops they expect us to jump through.

When this happened to me I told them "its all on file". In my excel sheet I logged date, time, info provided and with whom I spoke to last time and they released instantly...

ebay UK is going thro' some stupidity at the moment.

They are sending out notices of suspension with little means of users being able to deal with them :pout:

Limitation came through T&S, done a live chat and got transferred to T&S who told me they could not help...

Phoned the number, got through to a call centre, cant help, cant speak with anyone, member of staff went off and checked and could see my account had been previously limited on the date I provided, then the limitation was lifted on the other date I provided, could not put me through to the T&S department (they dont take phone calls apparently :suspicious:)...told me to do live chat (been there, tried that) or email...

So ended up emailing (the same information) again...

I had thought this was an auto-glitch, but it seems unless you get speaking to someone in charge (which seems to be in one of the Irish call centres anytime I have spoken with someone), no-one else can or will help.

i really cant understand the reasoning behind this and lets face it, what good is the same information to them twice going to be? Are they going to un-accept it second time around?

As GB says, it has no rhyme or reason in the real world but im sure in 'ebay-land' its a big deal.

simular thing happened to me with my REAL account... i sent them reciepts of goods i had bought to sell... invoices, they wanted utility bills proof, and photo id...

i did it all and bang they got me

they never once would tell me what on earth what it was i ever did...but they now had all the id on me they needed
was never able to opperate as ME again

but once i had supplied all my id it was as if they had no intention of lifting my limitation... next month it will be 180 days since they held my money and i had emails to say it will be released to my account... i told them to shove it
im going to donate it to a childrens charity if it ever reaches my account

Sometimes they don't plan on un-limiting account. Just phishing for your info to make sure you never get back on. Sometimes it is just best to move on.

same here, asked me to give all information, while i'm still uploading, got another email: baned.

they send generic requirements emails, so if items are sold then call or email them (email can take several goes).

as for sending ID, even on real accs, known forumers that got turned down, they already made their mind up, even at £1900 lift, they take a look at account and can decide to shut it down for risk.
