Threaten - Australia help!

Hey guys,

Sorry that this is my first post but I am quite worried.

I have been contacted from an Australian distributor and accused that one of my particular product is a counterfeit. They want me to take every item off eBay and my website and also send all products to them along with all invoices of products I've sold and import invoices.

They have also gave the product manufacturer my details.

They threatened that if I do not do all of the above, they will contact the federal police.

What should I do? any advise?

Any advise at all would be much appreciated.

Thanks guys.

What kind of stuff you are selling so...

Do you investigate this "distributor" to see if they are in fact legit?

Companies arent known to go to these lengths to let you know what they will do they will usually simply inform ebay and have your listings removed no questions.
Ebay of course will comply as they always do if contacted.

Do you know if you sold an item to this distributor?

Do you know what kind of info they have on you?

Is your account even legit to be worried about to begin with?

These are common emails/threats from competitors you feel you are impacting their business to try and scar you....

Is the item legit?

How did notice get to you?

PM me the info.

:peace:

Thanks for the reply guys, our eBay account is 100% legit, our eBay account is connected to our website.
The distributor is in fact legit and they contacted me via telephone on our website.
I'm not sure if I've sold anything to the distributor, they have our office number and address.
There was no notice, just an email and a telephone call.

We thought the item was legit but don't think so anymore, we have taken all of this particular brand off our website and eBay and have since been trying to contact the reseller to verify the certificate of authenticity.

Any further advise would be much appreciated.

1. Stop selling the item.
2.. What is the item?
3. Read around the forums for what other people have done when being contacted about counterfeit items.
4. If you have not received REGISTERED MAIL, I would not take these threats too lightly - phone calls and e-mails are not sufficient.

Be careful.

tbf what you are saying is sketch.

Info is too vague to advise you.

Think about it... a phone call with a claim?

As I mentioned in my 1st reply, shoot me a pm with more info.

PM GB 1st thing.

Phone call though??? Don't seem legit. Email??? uhhh maybe for a warning or something.

Do some police work. Not hard to find out if its a scare tactic or legit.
