How come I get no sales volume when I first create Amaozn account?

When I first create a amazon account and I put up lets say 500 different items, I get like 1 or 2 sales a day for 2 months.... Then after 2 months I get about 20 sales a day.. Why is that?

BiN4RY 10-09-2012 07:42 PM

I don't think it has anything to do with Amazon itself, it's most likely a seasonal trend.

slim jim 10-09-2012 09:13 PM

You should compare it to years past to see if it makes sense

Silas 10-09-2012 09:21 PM

Do you reprice your items often? What types of items do you sell? Something in the book category would sell much faster than say "Everything Else"

keepaskingqq 10-09-2012 09:26 PM

i leave everything untouched.... I barely get sales. Then all of the sudden.. I get like 20 sales a day. Do amazon advertise our products? like through google adwords or something? is it possible it took 2 months for them to advertise it or something?

slim jim 10-09-2012 09:49 PM

it is too random to say you must compare it to your sales in the past. if it happens every year it is a seasonal thing, if it isn't then that will help narrow the problem down

keepaskingqq 10-09-2012 10:49 PM

lets say its not happening every year..

after those 2 months were up upgraded to a feature merchant where you get the buy box?

Once you become a featured merchant your sales should would jump up

no way you become featured after 2 months with such little sales unless they items are expensive

Be happy that you have sales coming in rather than deletion. Sometimes there is no rhyme or reason behind these platforms - your price was probably not the best when no sales came in

nobody999 10-10-2012 01:00 PM

maybe buyers are reluctant to buy from "just launched" sellers. then after a couple months and a few feedbacks, buyers are more willing to purchase from you.

Gamefreak 10-10-2012 02:23 PM

^^^ is so true... buyers are very suspect of of the new sellers status on your account so you only get the brave ones but those are the ones who usually leave feedback anyways...

DHB123 10-11-2012 08:00 AM

I am a text book dealer. My sales peak according to student needs. However, the advance of online courses and accelerated semesters has increased sales to a constant flow. Yet, getting feedback is ridiculous. Go figure...

rsot 10-11-2012 08:44 AM

Getting feedback on Az is always an issue. They should have some default positive feedback received if no feedback left in...say...90 days

would have thought this was reason ^^

keepaskingqq 10-12-2012 11:27 PM

i really don't think its the "just launched" reason.. I mean some days I would even get no sales. Sometimes it would be 1-2 sales a days. Then all of the sudden.. I get like 20 days...

newjerseymax 10-13-2012 05:25 PM

Maybe your competitor takes those days off allowing your items to sell...

Good one pepsimax
