Default New request higher selling limits?

I was tinkering with one of my newest stealth accounts about a month old, has 4 sales total in the past month about $70 each with 10/$500 selling limit. I clicked on "Request higher selling limit" link and it took me to a page that gave me two options to either link a previous eB selling account or confirm my identity.

I clicked the confirm identity option and it lead me to a page that had my stealth name, address and phone number and asked if these were correct or if wanted to change them. I checked off that all three were correct, then I was lead to a page that asked me a series of 5 questions about previous addresses, what month I was born, the whereabouts of some person I never heard of and info on some property purchases. In every question there was an option that stated something along the lines of, I have never lived at these addresses, I do not know this person or there whereabouts, for the date of birth month "none of these months" etc.

I really wanted to just choose the "I don't know, none of the above" options on all the questions and click next to see what happens, but didn't pull the trigger. Anyone else get this as of late on new accounts? I feel like this one is going to be a burn, will probably be stuck with this measly 10/$500 limit until I call in and won't be able to provide all the info they need anyways when I do. It just feels like this one won't be raising limits on its own. Hope I'm wrong...

Also, I clicked back until I was at the "My eB" front page and clicked "Request higher limits" again and the option to confirm identity was gone, the options changed to the link a previous eB selling account or call in and discuss your selling goals.

This is normal. They most likely hit a match in public records for the name, address you used. If you don't complete the questionnaire the first, it's gone. You would need to call in and have the agent pull another set of questions. May require to make up some story, not sure how lenient they are about that. Worked for me once, when I messed up the questionnaire initially.

yep I experienced this as well with my very first stealth account...(prior to joining and doing all of the reading I have done here). In hindsite, with what I know now I would have just allowed this account to mature on it's own, by selling to my limits, being a steller ebay seller, and playing out through the 90 days etc.

I did call in and speak with a very nice young women. She let me take (and fail) the 5 questions 3 times. She indicated this was the maximum they allow. I played stupid and told her that none of the addresses were correct and that I had spent the last several years with no permanent address as I have primarily just lived at friends houses for many many years. blaa ba blaa. She was still nice and didn't indicate she felt I was not honest.

She suggested what I would need to do: 1) either find another account from a friend that in linking I could have their limits OR 2) sell for 90 days, (her suggestion was to even sell really cheap bracelets or something, lol), be on top of shipping, get my feedback up above 20, and then call back in after 90 days explaining my previous "living situation" and that I would likely not pass the test. She said she was noting my account with all of this and that what ever rep I got would be able to take that into consideration. It seemed to me that they realize that there is the possibility for times when those tests are not there end all to be all for verifing identity...just my thoughts there.

Anyway. School of hard knocks there. but hey that's how we learn right?

Been that way for a while, you can take those questions several times as they refresh. Also make sure you have a verified Paypal with avs vcc before you open a eBay, when you create a seller account the new limits that are standard are 10/1000.
